Snickers Salad

David Venable

It's a dessert! It's a salad! No wait, it's a dessert salad! No matter what you call this dish, the flavor is absolutely delicious.

Ingredients

  • 14 mini Snickers bars, small dice, reserving 1 diced bar for garnish
  • 5 Granny Smith apples, 4 medium dice and 1 sliced and reserved for garnish
  • 1 cup fresh pineapple, medium dice
  • 1/3 cup dried mango, small dice
  • 1/3 cup dry-roasted peanuts, lightly chopped, reserving 2 Tbsp for garnish
  • 2 cups vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1 cup Cool Whip
  • 1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup dried banana slices, broken into pieces
  • Caramel sauce (optional)

Directions

In a large mixing bowl, toss together the diced and chopped ingredients, making sure to reserve the noted garnishes.
In another mixing bowl, add the yogurt, whipped topping, and lemon juice. Fold together until mixed. Add the yogurt mixture to the other ingredients, then fold together until evenly distributed.
Chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes. Serve individually in small bowls or in a large serving dish. Garnish the top with the reserved ingredients and banana slices. Use the reserved apple slices for decoration, arranging 3 or 4 in a fan shape either sticking out of the top or arranged around the sides. If desired, drizzle the top with caramel sauce.

Cook's Notes

Customize your dessert salad even more with grapes, coconut, or mandarin orange segments.
