Dyson Ball Animal 2 Upright Vacuum with Tools is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 572.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Vacuum I have been looking forward to purchasing a Dyson vacuum for awhile now. This was my opportunity. Unfortunately it was terrible, it died two weeks after we had it. Yes we cleaned the dirt out but still no luck. I am returning. So disappointing.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great on floors but terrible on attachments This purple one works great on our carpets and tile floors. However every time I go to clean our steps, couch and windows I want to throw it out the window. The attachment tubing is extremely stiff making it very frustrating to try and use. I do not recommend this if you use attachments at all. Also, the ball gets hot after using it for more than 2 rooms.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from This really sucks - and sucks [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Firstly it wasn’t hard to put together and wasn’t as heavy as I’ve read. Worked amazing on tile and hardwood and on our fitted carpet really got the deep down dirt out. Down side on thinner rugs would not budges. When trying to use the attachments for sofas or stairs the suction is so strong that the hose cannot extend very far at all, it constantly pulls the main body of the machine and pulls it over. I was expecting to be able to have the machine at the bottom of stairs and use the hose plus attachment but since the distance is so sort have to balance it on every step making it quite a workout. On the sofa wanted to us the longer attachment so I didn’t need to bend over and save my back but again the hose would not expand long enough and the machine constantly tipped over. A work around would be to supply a more mailable hose that would remain extended when needed and not recoil or even a much longer hose. As a stand up vacuum great but for attachments it’s poorly designed especially for pet owners who’s dogs go on sofa. I also image the same issue would be for using it on my car.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Junk! This is going back today. Bought it and first had way too much trouble putting it together and now straight out of the box, no power. It worked for about thirty seconds and then quit. I loved my old Dyson Animal but please save your money.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too much suction for carpets Was really excited for an upgrade as I purchased my first Dyson Animal about 10 years ago. I am very disappointed in this model for multiple reasons, but most notably because the suction is so great that it's near impossible to vacuum carpets or rugs. This is only usable on my hardwoods. Not worth the price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not That Great The vacuum itself feels like cheap plastic that can break easily. A lot of flexing... Especially in the handle. Was looking forward to using it on my hardwood floors also, but it's a huge pain in the butt. It's got really good suction but you are constantly fighting the hose being sucked back together and not being able to move around very much / far without the vacuum falling over from so much suction to the hose. There's also a lot of bend in the hose itself when trying to clean hardwood floors that I can easily see it cracking and splitting apart at the bend. Thus rendering the vacuum useless. Yea you can use the whole vacuum itself for the hardwood and turn the bristles off, but that completely defeats the purpose and just clogs the brushes up really bad. And for being an "animal ball"..... easily clogging the brushes is a completely different issue. The wheels by the brushes has dog hair clogged in them making them virtually useless. Nothing "falls" out of the canister without shaking it back and forth making dust fly everywhere. Biggest reason we purchased the Dyson Ball Animal 2 was deeper cleaning with our golden retriever and all of his dog hair. An expensive waste in my opinion on a cheaply made product that seems like it will easily break.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too much suction per Dyson! This is my 4th Dyson and probably my last. It was too difficult to push due to suction. I called Dyson and was told this model is not compatible with certain carpet ( med to low pile) They suggested I replace it for another model...I suggest they fix the problem or get out of the vacuum business. Who builds a vacuum that doesn't work on carpet?? After 40 emails they said they would replace it with a model more compatible with my home...so I asked when are they sending my Oreck??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong Suction The suction is so strong that it is almost impossible for me to use the attachments. The suction sucks the hose back towards the machine and when you try to extend it, the machine falls over. Great for carpet cleaning - not good for other type of cleaning.
