Rated 1 out of 5 by from Too powerful for average home; Former model better I had the original Animal for 10 years and loved it till it finally stopped working. I hate everything about this new Animal 2 version. 1. It is so powerful that every rug in our house gets sucked up. It goes smoothly over the wall to wall carpeting in one room but in another room with a thick, tight carpet pile, forget it - it is extremely difficult to push the vacuum over. 2. A plastic bottle cap inadvertently got sucked up in the handheld tube while I was vacuuming in corners and it blocked all the airflow. I had to take the machine apart to get it dislodged. 3. The new handle on the top is flimsy and carrying the vacuum by the handle on the dirt cup is awkward. 4. The lack of rim on the bottom to put your foot on to help tilt the machine before using is frustrating. This machine is too expensive for me to hate but I'm stuck with it now. If possible, test this Animal 2 out somewhere before you spend all this money to make sure you like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this vacuum! We have a new puppy and our old vacuum just wasnt doing the job. I am a big researcher when making a purchase and I checked this one out. This vacuum has great reviews. I think the price is a little high but after using it for the first time I think it's well worth it. I was AMAZED what it picked up from my carpet in a room we dont use very often. I cant wait to put it to use in the rest of my home. It was easy to put together, lighter than my old vacuum and easier to push. Buy this vaccum you wont be disappointed!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love dyson I've had an original Dyson bought 15 years ago and have been happy. It wasn't performing like it used to so thought it was time for a new one. This one is awesome!! Great suction and easy to use.. worth the money!!! One time over my carpets/rugs and this is what old dyson missed...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cheap plastic garbage used to have a dyson years ago and it was a tank, truly amazing product. Bought the animal 2 vacuum for Christmas and it is the biggest piece of garbage I’ve ever owned. It feels flimsy and cheap, it never wants to click in when trying to get it to stand upright. Very cheap feeling. The hose/wand thing is almost useless, each time I use it I feel like it’s going to break. Please put a little pride into what your making or drop the price. I don’t feel like the vacuum is worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All you Need I bought this vacuum for my mother-in-law for Christmas and loved it so much that I bought our house one too. We have a done with fine hair that is very difficult to vaccum. The Dyson Ball Animal 2 sucks up more hair than I’ve ever seen. We use it on and under our sectional, on our hardwood stairs and even on bathroom tile. The attachments that come with it are great for all surfaces. Anyone can quickly learn how to use this vaccum and will appreciate the job that it does!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth the money I’ve always heard dyson was a good vac, but couldn’t ever justify the cost. Thought it was pretty crazy spending $400 on a vacuum...I’ve got a lot of other things I’d rather spend 400 bucks on! I had a bissel pet eraser for several years. Thought it did a pretty good job. I’ve got a husky mix breed that sheds a LOT. The furniture attachment wasn’t working great tho, and it was over all showing it’s age. I decided to take the gamble. The new dyson was delivered today. I decided to vacuum thoroughly first with my old vacuum, then do it again with the dyson so I could see if it does any better. Unbelievable! My old vac looked like it did a great job.....dyson’s canister was about a 1/4 way full after going back over the same area. This was on a 6x9 area rug (see picture...notice the dirt and dander at the bottom) The furniture attachment is unreal! Brushes never slowed down when they hit the fabric! I did find a couple things I didn’t like...no cord rewinding function like my old one had. When using attachments, the suction is so powerful, the hose collapses, and you don’t have a reach. I’m sure I’ll get used to that tho. No caddy on the vac for attachments. Lastly, the motor on top of the power head doesn’t allow it to go under furniture. Other than that great vac. First dyson, we’ll see how long it lasts

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not for homes with area rugs Just bought it and was excited to use it... now i am hoping i can return it because there isn't a point of owning a vacuum i can't use on all areas of our home that need to be vacuumed. It sucka too hard to use on area rugs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Way to much suction ! Got my Dyson animal 2 yesterday, was so excited to finally get it , can't push it on my berber carpet , I can't possible be the only one with this problem , called Dyson , they told me to send it back , the rotating brush would stop , they said carpet was to plush " berber carpeting " far from plush , know I have to figure out how to repack it and drive 21 miles to return it to UPS , they need to say something on air about this problem , my old Dyson was made a lot better , this one is made cheap , plastic and thin , I would love to try a different type of Dyson with less suction but not sure which one !!!!!!
