Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best for lightweight travel I have owned the on-ear QuietComfort version before I bought these in-ear QuietComfort 20. I changed as I wanted a lightweight and small package version, which I could carry all the time. This set of ear-phones does exactly that. Sound and built quality is excellent and it comes in with a small carry package, which I carry with me at all times - office and travel (lots of travel). On the plane, these work perfectly and are good for long-haul trips on one battery charge. Of course you get a little more ambient noise compared to an over-ear version but you also carry way less bulk. I can't wait for the next version where the battery and technology unit (whatever you call this) will eventually disappear - this is a flat box which attaches to the cable. On the go this flat box is is a little annoying but doesn't matter when in the office or plane. Also, please make the carry case a little bigger - one gets the sense that it can't be good for the cable to be squished into such a little space. All in all, I would buy this again!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cracked wire insulation The wire (rubber) insulation seems to be the weak link. I've owned my QC20 for about 3yrs. I take great care of all my equipment but the QC20's rubber insulation is cracked at multiple spots along the cord. I think this is due to the soft rubber used and with time it hardened. For durability, it's a Fair score from me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GREAT sound, but NOT great for Motorcycle riding.. I bought these hoping to drown out the noises while riding with my husband on his Harley. Before we took off, I put these on and flipped the "noise cancelling" switch and WOW...I couldn't even hear the engine!! I was excited...UNTIL we hit the highway. I have NO idea why, but the WIND is very loud in your ears with these. It's so weird! I brought the other pair of noise-cancelling earbuds I usually use and would test out both while we rode...and I just couldn't handle the wind-noise with the Bose, it was a huge distraction from the music. My non-Bose pair had very little wind noise so I'm just going to stick with them. I think in a normal environment these would be AWESOME...on an airplane or any other loud place. I am returning mine because their main purpose was to be while riding, and they are too expense to keep around 'just because'. But they DO sound great and block out other sound, so for that reason I would certainly recommend them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Noise? What noise! I bought these earphones a week ago and I can't believe how much better I feel physically and emotionally. I have sensory processing disorder, which means every day noises can feel like I'm sitting under an airplane all day long. With these earphones all of that extraneous noise is virtually gone. I can't hear anything but the faintest far away voices, other than all the sounds from the music I play. I am also very pleased with the earpieces. They fit snugly, don't fall out no matter how much I move my head, and can be worn for long periods of time with no pain whatsoever. I read that some people are annoyed with the battery, feeling that it was cumbersome to carry around, but it hasn't been an issue for me as it fits easily beside my phone in pockets and I just tuck it beside my phone if I'm carrying it in my hand. The texture of the battery case is something else, very smooth! I am very happy with my purchase and I highly recommend them. They are a fraction less effective than the headphones but only a fraction, nothing significant at all. I originally bought the headphones but felt that they were too bulky and hot for my preference, but I don't feel like that at all with the earphones. They're very functional and practical for every day use. I can't wait to use them on my next plane trip!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very good, However just a problem I bought this a few days ago and it was working well and living you to its expectations. Then yesterday, the right side started to make a whistling sound. I do not know what it is, however I don't know how to fix it. Everything else is very impressive. Just this problem

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great noise cancelling, poor life span. I bought there a few years ago almost when they first came out. I understood the battery was not able to be replaced and eventually the rechargeable battery would no longer hold a charge so thought I'd just keep them for when I really needed the noise cancelling. I have used them almost exclusively on a few long haul plane trips, hardly at all in day to day use. Having them plugged into the plane armrest, occasionally I have stood up and they've had a good tug as I've forgotten the plug, they're that comfortable and work so well, I forget they're in, it's only been a handful of times but it's been enough to damage the plug or the connection from the plug to the battery. There's no visible damage like the photo in the one star review, but I can't listen to anything. They can't be repaired. The noise cancelling still works fine from the battery to the headphones. A review a year ago would've been 5stars, I was extremely happy, but having used them on only 4 or 5 holidays before they stopped working, I'm no longer extremely happy. They're out of warranty so no replacement. If I was just using them plugged into a phone that came with me when I stood up rather than tug on the armrest, I'd possibly still be extremely happy.
