Rated 2 out of 5 by from dont bother If you are buying a Kitchen Aid mixer, save yourself some grief and buy a tilt head. This bowl is a puzzle to get on and off, and if it was filled with liquid, you would wear it.. I wrote once before and my review has disappeared. You never see them remove the bowl, because it would make people think twice before buying it. I had a really old Kitchen Aid I gave away, and hate myself every time I wrestle with this darn bowl, either putting it on or taking it off. Just a mess. Don't buy this one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful!!! Expensive Repairs. I bought this Pro 600 mixer a few years ago. It has been used probably 20 times. So, I decided to use it for my new spiralizer attachments rather than my heavy duty mixer, which is also a KitchenAid and has never given me any problems. It groaned, moaned, clunked, and then wouldn't release the attachement!!! Stuck! Finally, it came loose. A few days later, I decided to make a simple cake from a mix. In goes the butter, started the mixer on #1. As soon as the paddle hit the butter, the mixer wouldn't budge. I called the # listed in the manual, was told I could send it to Ohio for repairs, and today I got a call that the diagnostic had been done. $170 to repair it! Bad gears, a crack on the inside, the hub was messed up, and several other things I can't remember were wrong with it. What is happening with the quality of merchandise these day???? A reliable product such as Kitchenaid should be just that....RELIABLE. This mixer has ended up costing me almost $700 with the price, the shipping, and the repairs. I'm very disappointed and upset. If I could, I wouldn't give this product a single star.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A wonderful kitchen item This new mixer is much better than the one I bought in the nineties. I can mix a large amount of products and don't have to worry about them flying out of the bowl..I can't wait to start making my wonderful cakes again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed after purchasing meat grinding attach Hubby surprised me with what I had been desiring for a long time when this was on special. I love how it mixes cakes, breads and takes care of all of my baking needs. I found the meat grinder attachemnt at Kohl's and was happily grinding sirloin trimmings for about a year. The gear that moves everything is made of plastic - definitely NOT metal - and wore out. The motor is designed to stop mixing if the pressure or torque is too much. Grinding meat is now out of the question but further, I can no longer mix a simple, loose cake batter without the mixer stopping after one cycle around the bowl. I wonder if the gear started wearing out when I made bread or pizza dough. The parts are available online and it is difficult for the home handyman to replace this particular part because you have to buy the replacement gears, housing, gasket and special grease, plus it takes a few hours. It's almost worth it to purchase a replacement mixer. I'm just disappointed I have to go back to hand mixing until I make a decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kitchen Aid 6 qt professional What can I say except this mixer has the best mixing power. I had a very old one and it wasn't the professional one, so it worked for bread but not as well as this one., This mixer made my bread so wonderful, even my mother in law said it was wonderful and she makes bread all the time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long? I bought this for myself after wanting one for years and years. It as the best thing I have ever done not only for myself, but for my family. My husband loves it to because now, even he can bake! It makes it so easy to make cookies, cakes, pies. Doubling recipes is a breeze. It speeds up baking so much, it is so much fun to use! I have an older home with a smaller kitchen designed in the 70's and not a lot of counter space. This is one of the reasons I waited so long to buy this. If Only I had known this big mixer actually makes it EASIER to bake in my small kitchen because I don't have to pull out tons of bowls and find a place to lug in a hand mixer...I just use this beautiful mixer. I am so glad that I got the 6qt. It makes it so easy to double and triple recipes so it's easy to bake big batches. I purchased this in gloss cinnamon, a deep rich red color and this mixer is a focal point in my kitchen. Go ahead and get it! You will love it and wonder why you wired so long to get it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Durability may be a big issue when making bread I used it primary for kneading bread doughs and I make six to eight 2 kg batches a month. When it runs, it works great. Mine broke after about 18 months. From info on the web I gather that this is rather severe service for this machine. If you are handy and don’t mind spending $50 - $60 on parts, the repairs are not terribly difficult. There are several good repair videos on the web. If you are not handy and are going to use it to make bread, consider extended warranty options, if there are any available to you, and be alert for problems while it is in warranty. It is much noisy than the 5 qt Artisan I have.
