Prep Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 tube of thin crust pizza dough (11 oz)
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup small diced yellow onion
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1/2 lb ground mild Italian sausage
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 Tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2/3 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 Tbsp chopped fresh parsley

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 400°F.

Lightly coat the bottom of a 13” x 9” baking pan with cooking spray. Unroll your pizza dough to fit evenly in the baking pan. Tuck the corners underneath so that the dough is just on the bottom and is not coming up the sides.

Using a pizza cutter, cut the raw dough evenly into quarters to score it prior to baking. Bake your crust for 10-14 minutes until it is golden brown. Set aside.

Heat the olive oil in a medium sauté pan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until the onion is softened, about 4 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more until fragrant.

Add the sausage and break it up with a wooden spoon as it’s browning. Cook over medium heat for about 10–12 minutes. Once the sausage is fully cooked, set it aside to cool. Once the sausage has cooled, break it apart into small pieces with your fingertips.

In a mixing bowl, combine the pizza sauce, heavy cream, and oregano. Spoon the mixture evenly on top of the crust. Top with the parmesan cheese, followed by the sausage and then the mozzarella.

Put the pizza back into the oven to warm the sauce and sausage, and then melt the cheese, about 8–10 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with the chopped parsley. Break it into 4 pieces and enjoy!
