Ostro Blue Topaz Sterling Silver Choice of Shape Ring is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from USED RINGS I ordered two. The oval and the pear, as I wanted the octagon, but it was gone, forever they said... BOTH came used, and the stones were filthy. I took a long time returning them, as I was torn, debating the cost vs the quality of the product, and QVC only offered a $50 credit for each ring. This ring is $700 and then tax is about $32 and shipping is $14, didn't even come that quickly for that price. I loved the blue, it is STUNNING. There isn't even a certificate or something to verify its authenticity. I'm debating ordering from QVC again. It should be disclosed that it is a customer return with very noticeable blemishes AND not the same price as a brand new ring! If that had been the case from the get go, I may have kept it. Now I see the octagon is available, even though they said it was gone forever. I want to buy it but afraid they are going to send me a THIRD used ring.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beautiful Topaz Pathetic Setting Like many reviewer's here I also bought this ring in the emerald cut (octagon) when it was 1st introduced back in 2012 and returned it "under a bit of duress". The setting was damaged and the ring was sold out, so no replacement available and my only choice was to return it for a refund. I was severely heartbroken and I seriously thought of this ring often!! I even looked on ebay & debated getting a used one that cost way more than the qvc price! But it was the setting that still bothered me, the "damaged" area was more like really poor quality than actual damage. After all the hype about this rare gemstone, why would they put it in such an unworthy and humiliating setting?? It was obviously poor craftsmanship and I did not feel like paying to have it reset into something more appropriate. But as the years past by, I was like I wish I had that darn Ostro Blue stone!!! Then, fate intervened & while checking out another topaz ring on QVC a week ago I saw this Ostro blue topaz and started to freak out a little!! The emerald cut was sold out and apparently "forever", so I made the difficult decision between the oval and pear, and chose the oval cut. (I just received it 2 days ago and I haven't told my husband yet, he will be upset I spent this much on a single ring, but he'll get over it eventually.) The ring looks like a return because the stone has smudge marks on the underside, like someone put hand cream on while wearing the ring. The setting is not as cheap and "lacking" as the 2012 setting, but still very similar. This setting had no white zircon ready to fall out like my other one did from missing sterling silver along the outer edge. I feel satisfied that this ring was at least 100% intact and in good condition. I'll need to clean the ring to make sure the stone is clear, but I'm pretty sure it is, if not I'll have to return/exchange. The setting itself is still sad though, the silver presence is very thin and kind of pathetic for $600. And the ring is definitely top heavy!! It hasn't sat still since I put it on my finger! It keeps moving to the side. I ordered my correct size too, a size 8, & it should fit perfectly. I even took out a bunch of Judith Ripka & other QVC ring's in size 8 before ordering to make sure it was the right size. If anything I was worried it might be a little snug. It's not snug at all, in fact, it seems to run a smidge big, maybe a quarter size big, or it's just that top heavy, or a combination of both factors. While I think a better setting would help the ring sit correctly, I'm still very pleased I managed to get this stunning blue stone! It's incredibly mesmerizing to look at!! And yes I know how weird that sounds, but it really is hypnotizing!! Maybe someday, in like 15yrs, I can beg my husband for an upgraded setting. Unfortunately, I never saw any other pieces from this collection on QVC. Other reviewer's mentioned earrings and necklaces, so I'm just a little bummed!! Oh and the emerald cut (octagon) is back in stock, with a price increase too, and none of the stones are listed as clearance/sale either. (Which is kind of strange to me!). I really would've loved the Emerald cut instead!! I would recommend this ring to everybody who loves big cocktail rings and blue topaz! It is a truly stunning ring & would make a lovely, and sort of a "one of kind" engagement ring, or anniversary ring!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Ostro Blue I received my beautiful Ostro Blue ring today. I got the Oval shape in size 6. It is clear and without inclusions. Very good facets that sparkle especially in the sunshine. I might have been able to wear the size 5 as the band is on the thinner side and causes the ring to tilt sideways. It can’t flip around as the stone is too large for that to happen. I’am disappointed I did not get a romance card with my ring to confirm it is an Ostro Topaz. Obviously it must have been a return and someone kept the paperwork. I wonder if the jewelry buyer will see this and send me one. I would really appreciate that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY KEEPSAKE I received my hexagon Ostro blue topaz ring today. I wasn't prepared for how exceptional this stone would be as the presentation online and on the TV just didn't do it justice. I lost a large pear shaped blue topaz ring that my beloved Aunt Carol had given me when I was younger. It was my birthstone and I was heart sick over losing it. All these years, I just couldn't bring myself to buy another one. BUT..... when I saw this ring and heard the story behind Max Ostro's collection over five decades, I decided after 35 years of being without my blue topaz ring, that I would give it a chance. I am so glad I did. I have never seen a blue topaz with this depth of color and fire. It really does remind you of the deep blue sea on a sunny day. I'm keeping it and I know my Aunt would be pleased that after all these years I finally replaced it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful blue I love this ring. It’s a real hand grabber. I’ve had so many compliments on it. The stone just glows. Can’t stop looking at it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my style I purchased the pear shape design and I just didn't like the ring on my hand. The stone just didn't appeal to me and the ring had a tendency to slide around on my finger. I will return this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Ostra Blue Topaz Ring. I ordered the pear shape earrings and the pear shape necklace in 2012. Loved them. I also ordered the Pear shape Ostra Blue Topaz ring in 2012 and sent it back since I thought the stone was too large for my hand. Kicked myself for 8 years for not keeping it. I have looked for another Ostra Blue Topaz ring since then and was not able to fine one. I was watching QVC a few days ago and saw a close out of a few rings they still had in the vault. Tried to order the same ring I sent back in 2012 ($241.00 vs $482.00) but the pear shape was already sold out in my size so I ordered the oval shape ring. Love it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Gorgeous color, But not a Good value for me The color of the stone is gorgeous, but the cut makes it look more like glass than an actual gemstone. The accent stones are so tiny it’s difficult to tell if they’re stones or a design in the sterling setting. The weight of the setting is not what I would expect for the price; it’s pretty thin. Love the color, but can’t justify the price for this one. It’s will be going back.
