Rated 4 out of 5 by from POWERFUL for BIG batches...but Hi all ! Ok, I have two KA mixers - A really old smaller workhorse and this big bad boy for large scale baking. Its a beast BUT, my only complaint is that the balloon whisk and paddle do come close the bottom and sides of the very large bowl (you have to disconnect everything and scrape by hand) !! And yes, they cast aluminum does oxidize (just wash them by hand). I've lived with it, but decided I should add a very late review in hopes that they have had plenty of time to address this. These are way too expensive to have such fundamental problems. Its like a racehorse with short legs !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it, period. I have to give this mixer a one star rating and it is for good reason. It’s not because the beaters don’t reach the bottom of the bowl because they do. It’s also not because the mixer is loud, which it is but that’s besides the point. I had just got this thing out of the box and I was in awe. It looks beautiful and I was thinking the opportunities in the kitchen were endless. Well unfortunately there are big problems with the power of this unit. While bored, I decided heck I’m gonna try and make some bread to impress my girlfriend. So I found a recipe for Italian bread online and I was off to the races. The manual says it can handle up to 8.5 loaves of bread in one go! Starting small I put 3 cups of flour and my yeast water mix in together. I could tell with just those ingredients that it was labouring a bit but figured it has to be normal ( I will try and post that video). After stopping the mixing, the recipe called for one more cup of flour added at one half cup per time. On the first half cup is when my excitement came to literally a “grinding hault”. The mixer would actually stop when trying to knead the bread, then power through it and keep going. It happened 3 times and smoke started coming out of the front and rear of the mixer. Needless to say I was peeved at the situation. I did a ton of research on these things and never ever did I go over speed 2 knowing the concequences. Well in this case it didn’t matter. Not happy about the quality at all. Couldn’t even handle one loaf of bread. Do yourself a favour and take heed on what I just said in this review.
