Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unsure yet I'm giving this a 3 star for now. I have not yet decided if I really like them or not. They do work and let you know of any movement in rage while your away from home and you can set them to away even when your home. Picture is great both day and night. The range is great I was surprised by how much I could see. I've tried doing the 2 way talk but I'm not sure it works need to try it a little more. So here is the bad. This came with a 3 month subscription. When they arrived I set them up right away the process took about an hour for both and had to be done on a smart phone maybe could have done it on a tablet but not the computer. I don't like to use my smartphone much especially when having to enter so much info so this was a pain for me. setting up the second one was also a pain and took more time than the original one to set up. After I had them set up I tried to finish registering but they wanted me to pick a plan and pay. Since I got 3 months free I was surprised and looked for a code to use. There was none. I think contacted QVC and they gave me the support number for Canary. Canary is only open during the day M-F so I sent a message to which I never got a reply. Canary says they will reply within 3 business days but on the 4th day I finally started a chat with them online and was told the code was set already however the woman was very nice and quick got the code and made sure it worked. After the chat I went back to my email and found the email I never received was set about the time I started my chat. The camera does work but I was hoping for a continuous recording that I could go back t to later and watch as needed. This does not do that. I do get alerts but if I want to see what's happening after about 30 sec to a min then I have to look at the live feed. Defeats my purpose of having it.

I’ve had mine for about 3 years or so and at first I had problems but once I learned how it was intended to work, I set my settings and upgraded my WiFi, it works perfectly. I also pay monthly but if you go to Retailmenot, you can get the monthly for 50% off the regular price. I have mine in my bedroom to alert me if someone goes into my room when I’m not home otherwise when I’m home, I have the camera set not to record. I recommend this item to everyone that asks about it and I have even purchased one for a music artist friend who travels often and he loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Purchase I have had my Canary for over a year now, and yes when I got it you were able to talk to a human, now you either have to chat or email! What’s the big deal? I am very pleased with the system and have no problems with the system night vision is excellent and the best thing I get alerts when I’m away. Yes I do pay 9.99 a month and it’s worth every penny. When you have to contact customer service they get back to you right away. The camera is in color during the day night is black and white. There always making improvements on the system . Don’t listen to the negative reviews, right from your phone you can sound the alarm, talk to anyone at your home or call the police! It’s a fantastic security system.

They don’t have the training required to assist customers. There are no phone numbers to contact them. Customer service is only available through email or chat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does Not work correctly We have had this unit for over 6 months and the video quality is very bad. Most of the time it is in Black and white and we do not have it on night mode. The other issues are it doesn't take very good videos once someone is in house their faces are Blurred. My husband came in and I watched to see the video and it was horrible. We live in a small Cabin 24 feet wide and he was in kitchen near the living room and you couldn't see his face.. Tried to get help with this from Canary but you can't get a hold of them... Plus I am paying $10.99 a month for this service. What a joke Don't waste your money on this system. If you want to keep an eye on your pet you can talk to them and see them if in front of the Canary camera. .
