Technique 11-pc Hard Anodized Dishwasher Safe Cookware Set W/ColorSmart
Too late to return
I was so excited about this set being dishwasher safe and could not wait. After a few washes, the exterior began to look like the older version of the Anodized. The color smart interior began to show after about three weeks of use.
Nice but doesnt last
Love the look, however the interior color peels and now foods stick to the inside.
I was using the skillet and had the lid on it frying potatoes and the glass in the lid exploded. It went in the food all over the counter and floor. I like the cookware but the lids scare me.
I've had these for about a year and thought they were the best pans I've ever had. Nothing stuck to them and cleaning was a breeze. So I decided to baby them and only use rubber utensils and only hand wash. But lately I've been noticing scratches in the pans are particularly in the skillets. The outsides are even worse but figured that was normal because they're touching the flame. But I'm also noticing that they aren't as non-stick as when they were new. And the other day I got a little lazy and put the smallest pan that I had just used to heat some soup on the TOP shelf of my dishwasher. The bottom of the outside of the pan seemed to lose the gray coating layer and exposed stainless steel! I now have a silver band around half of the bottom of this pan. I don't know how it's going to effect the cooking but what coating would dissolve on the first time in a dishwasher??? I'm hesitant on ever buying this brand again and anxious to see how long they will last.
I bought this set December of 2013. I have used only wooded or plastic utensils but they still seem to have scratched. The pots are also peeling and they are discolored. I have only washed them by hand and NOT in the dish washer, even though they say you can. I will not buy for this manufacturer anymore. QVC, you better do better Quality Control.
Very disappointed, had less than two years already thrown out two of the pans because of the inside peels and chipping off.
I purchased this set last year before the holiday season. We began to use them in December 2013. Almost a year later, the skillet and small pan are discolored and scratched. The only cookware that still look great are the ones that I use to boil water or prepare sauces. I don't understand how this happened since we follow the instructions that were included in the packaging and we use non-scratch utensils while cooking with the skillets/pans. I was tempted to get new Technique skillets, but I'm going with another brand instead. I'm so disappointed. :(
I received these & they are very nice looking, but I wished I had shipped these back. I wasn't able to try them out right away & by the time I used them, it was too late to return them, so I guess I am stuck with them. They scratch so easy, it is unbelievable! I only use plastic spatulas, spoons, tongs etc. & they still scratch, the very first time I used the fry pan. I have a set of cookware that I purchased from QCV about 16 years ago & they are in better condition than these pans. I also hate to return these heavy items, because it is a pain, but I wished I could have, because I am not happy with them.
My first REAL non-stick...
Love, love, love, this cookware. I had purchased many so-called nonstick pans since the 80s...this is the FIRST to actually be non- stick and perform EXACTLY like it does on TV. Awesome product. Nothing sticks! EASY clean up. I look forward to making those ooey gooey dishes and don't dread clean up. I don't have a dishwasher, by choice, so I mean easy to clean. :)
Like the other comments - this set was not the quality I expected. It has a lot of scratches and I can see through the color as well. This is not like my last set of Cook's Essential's cookware which lasted years and was quite the value. Stay away from this set.
cheaper than they look
I purchased this set in June 2014. It is now September 2014 and one of the pans has scratches in the coating DESPITE using ONLY non-metal cookware. I am very disappointed also in the sturdiness of the handles on the skillets. They were wiggly even upon first use. I ordered the "platinum" color and they just have a cheap look to them. Disappointed in this purchase for sure.
These pans are awful! I have another set of technique pans I bought a while back, and i must say they were wonderful and have lasted a long time. As they began to show wear and tear from constant use, i decided to invest in a new set to replace them with. These pans scratch easily, have big pits in them, stick, and just are all around horrible! They look like something you picked up cheaply to save yourself money, and expected not to use them for a long period of time knowing that they were not good quality. Not pans with the Technique label on them!
