Grilled Steak Fries with Garlic Sauce & Parmesan

David Venable

This recipe will become your new favorite when you're looking to prepare French fries. It's simple, delicious and distinctly unique.

Fries

  • 1-1/2 to 2 lbs steak fries, frozen
  • 2 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan, grated
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika

Directions

To prepare the Garlic Sauce, add the mayo, lemon juice, garlic, salt, pepper, cayenne, and herbs to a blender or food processor. Pulse until well incorporated. Slowly add in the oil to emulsify. Set aside.
Preheat a barbecue or indoor grill to high.
To prepare the fries, toss them in a large bowl with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place the steak fries in a grill basket (if using a barbecue grill) and grill for 12-15 minutes, tossing frequently until nicely colored.
Remove the fries from the grill basket and place in a large bowl. Toss with the sauce and sprinkle with the Parmesan and paprika. Transfer to a platter and serve immediately.

Garlic Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 cup fresh parsley, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh dill, coarsely chopped
  • 1/4 cup olive oil

Cook's Notes

The garlic sauce with fresh herbs is very versatile. It can be served on your favorite steak or chicken and can even be used as a delicious marinade.
