Rated 4 out of 5 by from I LIKE THIS PIE COOKBOOK! I didn't really know what to expect from this cookbook since there were only two reviews and not very good ones. I very much enjoyed reading about Karlynn's family and how she learned to make pies and how certain ones are special to her. I like books that give some background about the author. There are some good and interesting pies to make in this book. I read most of it when I first got it and I can see myself making several of these. I am always happy if I get a few good recipes out of a cookbook and this one fits that bill! thank you Karlynn and QVC!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A FUN COOKBOOK I thoroughly enjoy this cookbook. The photos are fun. Personally, I enjoy the stories that go with the old family recipes. I had a good time reading from cover to cover, and I am in the process of cooking my way through the book. So far each recipe has been easy to follow, and the resulting dishes are delicious.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nostalgic Flair! Charming Book! I enjoyed the photo displays of the old timey Pyrex bowls...many I can recall from growing up however I caution the author in regards to the use of family photos.. Primarily a cookbook is purchased for the recipe content NOT for a review of the authors reminiscence of family photos. This is the same complaint I have of R. Drum___ as well. Please give me only the recipes I am paying of and not the reunion of pictures I see in the cookbook. That being said there are many recipes I am anxious to try. The first one I made last evening was the pumpkin chocolate cookies and they were fabulous and the one my husband requested next was the carrot cake. In review, so far very pleased with the RECIPES but not a fan of the addition of family pictures. This takes away from the overall feeling of ownership that the cookbook is something I can recommend for gift giving as it seems too personal bc of the inclusion of family photos and I would be certain those I may recommend this cookbook to were understanding of this aspect.
