Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returned Jackets was not what I expected, was too big and I didn't like the collar.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Seemed beautiful... I think Dennis Basso is so charming, and I get charmed into ordering his lovely things. This rain jacket looked good on air. So I caved and ordered it in two sizes not knowing how it would fit. I ordered a medium and a large. The large was a little too roomy. The medium was difficult to get on. The shoulders seemed tight. But once I very ungracefully wriggled into it, it fit well and zipped up comfortably. Unfortunately, I must return both. The large is too large. I can't get the medium on like a normal person. And there is something about the puffiness of the collar (which holds the thin hood) that is most unflattering on me. The coat just doesn't look good on me, and that makes me so disappointed because I really need a classy-looking light jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color hibiscus is pretty! What I loved about this jacket was the color, Hibiscus and the trim. The size was too large, and didn't like the huge collar. Had to send it back, it runs big.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice But A Little Small Through Arms & Shoulders Love The a line shape but Arms & shoulders a little small on the XL I bought. Also, the collar is bigger than it appeared on tv and feels a little overwhelming. Pretty but not for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Can't see when the hood is up Have been looking at this jacket for a while and was pleased with sale price, but WHAT GOOD IS A WATER RESISTANT JACKET WHEN THE HOOD DOESN'T FUNCTION CORRECTLY. Very surprised others haven't commented about the hood. The front of the hood falls down in front of my eyes which is a definite hazard to walking and there's no way to keep it back. See photo. The only thing one can do is fold the front of the hood back which means the inside is showing and that makes it look dumb. Now I know why none of the models were shown with the hood close to their head - because there's no string to tighten it. So they had to be staged very carefully so it wasn't shown falling in their eyes - otherwise it would have been difficult to sell. I have several Basso winter coats but this was my 1st venture into a lighter weight item. I like the style. Ordered the Hibiscus to liven up my wardrobe - love the color. Ordered my usual Basso size, XL. I am 5'11. The sleeve length could use another half inch for me. Doubt I'd ever wear it with the sleeves rolled up; to me that feature is useless on a jacket. No problem with the shoulder fit; wore it with a lightweight fleece under it as it was only 40F today. Didn't cinch it but that would be a nice option for warmer weather. I like the weight for a jacket - not heavy but not extremely light either. The workmanship is the usual Basso quality. Especially like that all the seams are well finished since it is not lined. I agree with others that the collar is bulkier than one would expect but I didn't find it annoying. Actually think it would be helpful on a windy day. Perhaps if the hood wasn't so wide and had a drawstring to make it tighter, it would also make the collar less bulky. Likely I will send it back because I can't figure out anyway to remedy the hood from falling in my eyes, nor should I have to. And even though it was on sale, I can't afford to keep it just to have another spring jacket as I still need one with a hood for inclement weather. Dennis, did anyone actually wear this design before it was finalized to realize how impractical that hood is? I am still willing to continue with purchases from the Basso line until I get a few more duds like this one. .

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great construction Going on an Alaskan June cruise & looking for something that would pack well - but keep me dry on deck or pier venues. Bought the coral shade, I'm petite and was considering on going up a size but stayed with my QVC large. Fit is comfortable but will wear lightweight layers underneath vs a bulky sweater for additional warmth. Per other remarks, I personally liked the hood tucked away and seems to add additional warmth against back of neck when concealed. Love the snappy color and happy with fit - elastic pulls or drawstrings inside jacket allow you to cinch waist for defined look. Sprinkled some water on it to test repellency and happy with that as well... Believe this a good buy and value...
