WEN by Chaz Dean Sweet Almond Mint & Tea Tree Duo
It Really DOES work
I can't believe it! I tried the cleansing conditioner a few times prior, over the last 5 years, swearing it was a bunch of melarchy. This time I used it as suggested and OMG! What a difference it DOES make!!! I'll admit, I had to play with it to get the right routine for MY hair but what an amazing transformation. Stick w it.
I like wen
I have very curly hair and there are very few products that make a difference. But this cleanser/ conditioner makes my hair so much more manageable. It is not frizzy any more even in humid weather. It is not straight and silky like the models on TV but that is not my hair. I went back to my regular shampoo for one month and I hope that I never have to again,
From Course and Dry to Beautiful After One Use!
This review is for the Tea Tree (I have not tried the Sweet Almond yet). I decided to start with the Tea Tree after reading in the beautiful brochure that it is designed for course, dry hair (the Sweet Almond is designed for thin hair). My hair is course, thick, and dry - or, at least it was. I was completely amazed at how beautiful my hair was after the very first use. The Tea Tree left my hair soft, manageable and without fly-aways. Simple to use, but you do need to use many more pumps than a normal shampoo. It is expensive, but the results are worth it. Incidentally, I have since used it three more times and have gotten the same beautiful results. Oh, and my husband is thrilled that I don't have so many different bottles of shampoo and conditioner in the shower anymore. : )
I am a man and i love this.
I have been using Wen for a year now. I took a chance with it. I was so frustrated with shampoos. I had to buy all sorts of products because i could not use one shampoo for long periods of time because it made my head itch. Come Winter always always developed dry scalp it was embarrassing. Since i have been using this no more dry scalp and no more itching. I will not go back to shampoo ever again. Yes this product is expensive but with all the money i was spending on shampoo I think is a better deal for me.
I'll Believe It When Chaz Does My Hair
I really did give Wen a fair shot. I've spent hundreds of dollars since 2010, have followed the directions carefully, and Wen has does nothing for me. I believe if you have "bad" hair to begin with, Wen is not going to fix your hair. I have fine, wavy hair that breaks constantly and won't grow past shoulder length. In fact, I just had it cut a few inches since the ends looked see-through and ragged. I did everything Chaz said, including abstaining from the flat iron. Still nothing but breakage. I cannot justify spending so much for a product that doesn't work for me. I believe if you have good hair, Wen will make your hair better. I don't believe it can transform bad hair into good though...not without a good trim and stylist.
I really wish I hadn't waited so long to try this! It really works exactly as described. I have thick, wavy hair that gets frizzy very easily. With Wen, I can let it air dry and it is silky and shiny--I've never been able to do that before. So far, I've just used the Sweet Almond Mint. My hair is thick, shoulder length, and I've used about half the bottle in 3 weeks, cleansing every 2-3 days, so I think the 16 oz bottle will last me about 5-6 weeks. Definitely worth the money. I tried immitators from beauty-supply/drugstores in the past and didn't like them at all. Wen is completely different--wish I had just tried it first!
Great for Me
I started using Wen about 4 or 5 years ago when my naturally curly but fine hair was dry and dull and I struggled to know how to manage it. I continue to use these products today. I use the cleansing conditioner (prefer the original over the newer 613) and a generous amount of the mousse (also prefer the original) every time I wash my hair, and I air dry. My hair looks shiny; my curls are well defined with very little frizz. My hair looks healthier and more natural than ever. My hair does not look or feel dirty or greasy, despite using 'no lather' products for almost five years, except on the rare occasion when I'm out of town & forget to bring some along, or I have run out of product. I am a firm believer that this product has to be used as it is instructed and intended. Perhaps it is only good for certain hair types, but it has proven great for me.
This just did not work for us. I have thick, wavy hair and an oily scalp. I used it for over a week and my hair just felt dirty. It was oily and still difficult to brush through. I read instructions and must have seen Chaz Dean on QVC over a million times so I feel like I was using it correctly. My boyfriend tried it a few times and he has a completely opposite hair type than I; straight, normal, and never tangles. He was unhappy with it as well. It must work for some, since it is so popular but it just did not work for us!
The use of the green tea cleansing conditioner has not only improved my husband's formerly oily scalp, but also enabled him to toss out the old styling products. In addition, I get to use the vanilla mint which always leaves my hair healthier looking and with a great shine. The Wen product line is doing wonders in rehabbing my over-processed chemically broken hair. Oh, and it is true about calling the number on the bottle if you have any questions - they will provide assistance. The associate was kind and informative. Chaz Dean has a great product and a courteous staff working for him. It is a pleasure doing business with him and QVC.
Not what I expected
Did not like this product. Smells nice, but makes your hair feel dirty. Not happy, sent back
I tried the tea tree and the sweet almond both. I liked the way my hair looked, but my dandruff increased exponentially! I may be an exception, but I would not recommend it to my family and friends.
Trying to be a Wen Girl but I'm still undecided. I have reordered this product after deciding to keep going with this experiment. I am 53, post menopausal and have extreme BABY FINE hair. I've been losing it by the handful since I lost my hormones. I also had it bleached in a weave by someone new and they fried my hair so I lost a lot due to that as well! Sooooo I'm trying to grow it all out so that I can tell for sure whether or not this product is for me. Bleach is now almost gone but so much breakage! It's very difficult to NOT want to CLEANSE this baby fine hair with detergent type shampoos! Also, I tend to get major scalp itch if I don't cleanse the scalp thoroughly! I've tried Chaz' Oils with that regard but just too much oil for my hair type. I'd have to wash DAILY for sure if I continued with those oils. So I'm still using this product faithfully. I have noticed LESS hair loss for sure but it's still so so so so thin! SIGH! : ( It's still LONG though as I refuse to cut it off in my old age. : ) I love the TEA TREE scent despite a lot of others who don't care for it. I along with many others who do like the Tea Tree scent would love to see TWO TEA TREE sets verses the Sweet Almond Tea Tree mix.
