Anyone can open a can of cranberry. But you're not just anyone. Make this zesty and delicious garnish for Thanksgiving and you'll really impress your guests.
Place the cranberries in a medium-size sauce pot and add enough water to cover. Boil over high heat until the berries begin to burst, about 5 minutes. Drain and transfer the cranberries to a food processor. Add the pineapple, oranges, and honey. Blend the mixture into small chunks.
Truly fresh cranberries are quite firm to the touch and will bounce if you drop them. They should be shiny and plump and range in color from bright light red to dark red. Shriveled berries or those with brown spots should be avoided.|Store fresh cranberries for up to two months in a tightly-sealed plastic bag in the refrigerator.
