Why is it different: A digital temperature control allows you to easily set the correct temperature for straight hair in one pass based on your hair type: use lower heat settings for fine hair, and higher heat settings for thick hair. How do I use it: To hold the CHI Smart iron with a comfortable grip, place thumb on digital display unit. Grip the bottom part with other fingers and lightly close.
To straighten hair, divide it into 1" sections using the included clips, and glide the iron slowly from roots to ends. To create a flip, place the iron at mid-shaft and slowly rotate it away from your body; comb or brush gently to blend sections together. For a ribbon or curl effect, use larger sections of hair for loose curls, and smaller sections for tight curls. Place the iron at the root of your hair and lightly close it. Pull the iron 2" from the scalp, and take the end of your hair strand and wrap it under and around the iron. Continue to gently pull and rotate the iron until you have reached the end of your sectioned hair. The slower you pull, the better the result.
