Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Your Ordinary Slow Cooker Cookbook I love this cookbook! I'm always looking for creative slow cooker recipes, this book has it all. Recipes for some may seem too gourmet, but ingredients easily found at the local grocery store, For those wanting the basics, there is a lasagna, beef stew, stroganoff, pulled pork, bolognese, chili recipes, I could go on! She breaks it down to meat, poultry, seafood, meatless, side dishes, breakfast, sweets, stock and sauces. There is even a chapter on the basics where she gives you slow cooker tips. With cooler weather coming, I'm all about the slow cooker. I keep this cookbook handy in my car so I can flip through it before I go shopping to pick up what I need. Don't let the negative reviews stop you, this is an awesome slow cooker resource!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointment....to say the least. I love Martha Stewart cookbooks but not this one! I was expecting a cookbook for the family but I didn’t see much that my family would enjoy. A waste of money! No recommendations.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very good at all..a waste of money! I thought it would be a good book for slow cooker recipes. I was so wrong. It's not a very good book for the average family. If I could, I would send it back, but I waited too long.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very disappointed I was very excited about this book while watching the demo's and recipes on QVC. What a disappointment when it arrived and I started reviewing the recipes! Many of the recipes were for elegant parties that Ms. Stewart may host but not for a working family of 4 that needs a quick, yet homemade meal, when we all get home. This was my first purchase from QVC and hopefully not my last. I hope that I won't be misled if I order from y'all again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! If you just want an "open and dump" slow cooker book (like using soup, veggies and chicken and this is dinner), this is not the book for you. I love all of the recipes in the book! We enjoy different types of food in our home and enjoy using different seasonings. This book lets you explore different seasonings and spices and expand your palate. The recipes are easy to prepare but do require some different spices that, perhaps, if you only use salt, pepper and garlic, you will not want to purchase. I love making new things and enjoy slow cooking, especially in the fall/winter months. Thanks, Martha! Great job! I received this book as a gift from a dear friend....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Martha Stewart Slow Cooker Cookbook I absolutely love this book. Yes, there are a handful of recipes that are maybe considered a bit more exotic, but for the most part they are pretty classic recipes, in cuisines like French or Italian, Tex-Mex, Thai etc. She takes recipes that traditionally might not be cooked in the crockpot, and adapts them to a slow cooker, and also has more traditional slow cooker recipes like soups, chilis (with Martha's precision of course, which I appreciate). And what I also really appreciate is that they are true slow cooker recipes. A lot of recipes, like mac & cheese for instance, tell you to cook the pasta then put it in the crockpot, which kind of defeats the purpose for me. Here, the work is done in the pot -lasagna, meatloaf, beans, chili, cinnamon rolls, creme brulee.. I also like to think of recipes as good starting points. Once you get the technique and flavors down you can adapt it any way you want really (if you can't find, or don't like a particular ingredient). I bought this intending to share with my father but I'm going to have to buy my own copy because neither one of us wants to give it up!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from beautiful book, but limited I generally like Stewart's recipes, and this books is lovely, however, she has a tendency to use ingredients that I would never find without going to a big city. For home cooking, this is just doesn't work, and so I am limited in how the cookbook will function in my life. Still deciding if I will keep or return it.to QVC.
