The Ultimate All-in Burger

Inspired by the Taste of Hamburg-er Festival in Hamburg, PA, these burgers are chockfull of your favorite toppings.

Burger

  • 1 large Vidalia onion, sliced 1/2" thick
  • 2 jalapeños, split lengthwise and seeds removed
  • 1/2 cup roasted peppers, medium dice
  • 5 slices thick-cut bacon, cooked and medium dice
  • 4 oz gorgonzola cheese, crumbled
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1-1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Montreal seasoning
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc., for optional toppings

To prepare the burger patties

Grill the onion slices and jalapeños in a grill pan or outdoor grill until softened and slightly charred. Let cool. Once cool, medium dice the onion and small dice the jalapeños.
In a large mixing bowl, gently mix together the onion, jalapeño, roasted peppers, bacon, and gorgonzola. Add the ground beef, salt, and pepper, then stir, being careful not to overwork the ingredients.
Form 6 patties, applying just enough pressure to hold them together without pressing too tightly. Season the outside of the patties with the Montreal seasoning.

Peppercorn-Ranch Sauce

  • 1 pkg ranch dip mix
  • 16 oz sour cream
  • 3 Tbsp buttermilk
  • 2 Tbsp freshly ground black pepper

To prepare the sauce

Mix together the ranch, sour cream, buttermilk, and pepper in a small mixing bowl.

Cook's Notes

If you're cooking these on a grill, spray them with nonstick food spray to prevent the patties from sticking.
