Can you believe it? Your hot chocolate takes a cold turn in my chilly recipe!
In a small sauce pot, heat 1 cup heavy cream on medium heat.
Meanwhile, put the chocolate in a blender. Pour in the heated cream and blend until smooth. Add the vanilla, egg whites, salt, and cinnamon. Blend until smooth, then stop theblender and stir if necessary to blend completely.
In a stand mixer or in a mixing bowl, whisk together the remaining heavy cream and cocoa powder until soft peaks form.
Fold the chocolate mixture into the cream-cocoa mixture in 3 batches, being careful not to beat out all of the air. When mixed, evenly pour the mixture into 4 mugs. Freeze for at least 2 hours.
When ready to serve, stick two candy canes in each mug and garnish with the marshmallows. Add any additional garnish you would like, such as shaved chocolate, sprinkled cocoa powder, or cinnamon.
Take the festivity up a notch & use your favorite Christmas mugs to serve this dessert.
