Berry Lemonade Iced Tea

David Venable

An unbeatable combination of iced tea and lemonade, this recipe infuses essence of berries and is the perfect beverage on a hot summer day.

Ingredients

  • 3 quarts water
  • 8 wild berry tea bags (Celestial Seasonings Wild Berry Zinger or similar)
  • 3/4 - 1-1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 (12-oz) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
  • Lemon slices (optional garnish)
  • A few raspberries, blackberries, or a combination of the two (optional garnish)

Directions

Bring the water to a boil in a Dutch oven or covered pot. Remove the pot from the heat and add the tea bags. Cover and steep for 5 minutes. Discard the tea bags.
Stir in the sugar and lemonade concentrate. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Serve over ice and garnish with lemon slices and berries, if desired.

Cook's Notes

It's better to add the lemon, orange, or mint to each glass of iced tea rather than to the entire pitcher. Otherwise, your tea will turn murky.
