While to food did indeed stay warm for hours I was really surprised to find that they do not have a tight seal. In addition they really don't hold as much for the size. I know they need extra bulk to provide the thermal qualities but the shape/size is akward for both storage and travel.
I made a dish to take to a potluck. The biggest one wasn't big enough for the full amount so I stuck some in a locknlock and then put both vessels in a bag for transport. I had to tilt this one slightly to get it into the bag and noticed it started to leak. It took an hour to get to my destination - the locknlock was still piping hot under it's seal. The outside of this one was more comfortable to the touch and inside it was just as hot. But I wouldn't buy this again.

Awesome awesome awesome they work great just put hot water in before you put hot food in to get the chill outa them first. They kept ice frozen for about 6 hrs also...

Follow the instructions and you have amazing bowls to keep items hot/cold for very long periods of time. We visited our ill friend and brought universal medicine, hot chicken soup. The soup was indeed hot when arrived later in the day.

I was so happy when I saw these dishes, especially that they came in purple. I had bought myself a different brand of dishes like this years ago, but they don't keep things cold/hot as long as these do! I cannot wait to use these!!

Keeps food warm not hot. I guess it's good for short trips, camping and home. Water seeps between outer plastic and bowl can't dry it out because it doesn't separate sent it back,it appears to be defective.

I made white rice, and poured boiling water into bowl before putting rice in, and let it sit in there for about 20 minutes, poured out and then put rice in. At 1 hour pretty warm, at 3, not ice cold, but not warm either. NO WAY IT KEEPS WARM FOR UP TO 6 HOURS. May still be useful.
