Ninja 3-in-1 6 qt. Nonstick Cooking System with Cookbook and Accessories
Finish on lid chips off
I am writing this review in frustration as I have been dealing with an inadequate Ninja customer service. I purchased this cooker and love it, but the finish on the lid started chipping off. The newer version has a glass lid so one can assume that the change is a result of a defect in the original metal lid that came with my model. I placed an order to pay for a glass lid on 10/10/14 and here it is 12/11/14 and they still do not have it in stock. A phone call to Ninja gave me an additional 4-6 weeks for my new lid. I am writing this review to warn others not only of the chipping problem on the metal lid but to also highlight the inadequacy of Ninja in dealing with replacement parts. If a company is going to sell on QVC, they need to be prepared to also service their products. Love the cooker though!
Awesome Cooking System!
I have had my Ninja for about 2 years now and I use it for everything! I love that I can use it as a slow cooker, but I can also sear meat in it. What a time saver and using one pot makes clean up easy. I have made the best salmon using the steam oven method of cooking, roasted many chickens, baked hams, roasts, soups and chili, baked potatoes, it even keeps stuff warm for you for 6 hours. You name it, you can do it in this cooking system.
Fantastic cooker for whatever you need
My Ninja is the greatest discovery I have ever made and so absolutely thrilled to use. One can fry, bake or use crock pot. Being a single person, this has been so wonderful to use. If at home, I even fry my hamburgers in it. So easy to use, so easy to clean. Would recommend this to everyone. You will not regret buying. As a matter of fact, getting one for my daughter for Christmas. She has three kids and is a teacher. Not a lot of time to get a hot meal on the table. With the Ninja I am sure she will be as thrilled as I am. I also have the pressure cooker by Cooks Essential. This is great. Quck for casseroles you need to take. Don't know what would have done if this had not been at here during Thanksgiving. Then I got the Ninja. Together I don't need a stove only to bake my cakes for Christmas.
I have a slow cooker and electric pressure cooker which I use frequently but thought I would buy this to have the oven feature. I have used the oven feature to cook a meatloaf and it was the best one I have ever made. Today I tried the slow cook feature and WOW the roast fell apart without even cutting. My husband loves the food out of this cooker. I will be using a lot more often. The keep warm feature is awesome as you do not have to stand over it and remove things as soon as they are done. Highly recommend!!!
Love Love Love this product!
I use it nearly every other day... Its wonderful!...
The only small problem is... the cooking pot part of the system tends to scratch very easy. Use non-metal utensils only. I called Ninja directly and they are sending me a new pot ...no charge! Customer service was outstanding by QVC who recommended I call Ninja, as well as, Ninja the company who is sending me a replacement.
My 3-in-one came in the mail yesterday, I was practically bouncing at the door waiting for it to arrive. I've used it for dinner both yesterday and today and I love it.
I took the time to read the negative reviews, and many complaints were made in regard to the machine shutting off. This happened to me tonight, and I was frustrated for a short time until I discovered what the actual issue was. When the pot is turned on (at least on the oven setting) the timer is set for 1 hour automatically. After one hour, the pot shuts off. After the shut off happened the first time and I saw the timer, I tested it, and sure enough that was the issue. So if you do have a problem with your pot shutting off, it's probably just your timer.
Anyway, moving on.
Last night I made cheesy chicken and broccoli. I used the skillet setting to cook my chicken and my broccoli, then I poured in about half a quart of chicken broth, about a cup of instant uncooked rice, and a 2 cup bag of cheddar cheese as well as my seasoning and switched the pot to the oven setting. It was amazing!
The only real con I have with this pot is searing meat. I'm accustomed to searing meat in my cast iron pan on the boil setting of my stove. I can get a very good sear with about 30 seconds per side. The high setting on the pot doesn't get hot enough for my taste and when making my pot roast tonight, the flour crust I had on the outside wasn't seared enough and became mushy. Thankfully it was simple to scrape off, but if you want a good outside sear, you're probably better off using the stove.
We just received this a couple of days ago. I made the Moroccan chicken in it from the recipe book. The chicken was still almost totally frozen. It took 35 minutes to cook and it was amazing! Can't wait to cook a roast in it! Our crockpot went in the garbage!
This is absolutely the best investment I've ever made on QVC! I've been using it for a few months now and cook with it almost everyday. I started out with basic recipes in the cookbook, but now have adapted many of my own recipes. Positively the best! Just superb!
Worth every nickel
I love this cooking system for roast beef, chicken, chili, soup and so much more. I've even made candy in it. Just put the food in and walk away, it does all the work for you. This has become my go to pot/pan. The bonus is that it cleans up easily. It is the perfect size for any family. Really, you can't go wrong with this cooker. I love mine.
best purchase for my kitchen!
I use this at least once a week. Very versatile. Easy to clean and perfect as a slow cooker and extra oven.
Love my ninja
I've used it a few times since I recieved it. I love it. Works great, can't wait to try out more meals in it.
Better than I expected!!! THANK YOU QVC!!!!
I steam roasted a 5.25 lb. chicken today following the recipe for lemon- rosemary chicken. I sautéed the onion and garlic until they were translucent, which was not mentioned in the recipe, but I figured it would add more flavor; then returned browned, trussed chicken to pot. In a little more than 1 hour, I had a fabulous chicken that was extremely flavorful, considering the small amount of lemon called for in the recipe. The drippings and broth were easily thickened with Wondra flour on the high stovetop setting which made a wonderful gravy. I am a former caterer and this product more than lives up to its promise.
