Mad Hungry 2-Piece Bamboo Spurtle Set
Love Love Love These!!
These are great for many things, but I love them to scrape out soup cans and the like. I am glad I ordered these.
Love these tools
I love these tools. I ordered an additional set for myself and one each for my daughter and daughter in law.
Great for baking and spreading peanut butter etc.
Not made well
Mine are cracking. Not lasting long. I have wooden spoons that have lasted for years and are cheaper in price.
REALLY USEFUL -give it a try..
I was surprised to find this to be one of the most USEFUL items I have purchased from QVC.. It makes mixing, and folding and moving foods in the prep and cooking process so much easier and efficient. Dealing with arthritis makes daily tasks a real challenge .. but these spurtles make quick work of difficult tasks.
Heavy Duty & then some
Better than metal utensils for stiring thick, heavy, homemade mashed potatoes. Didn't bend or break like some plastic ones. I'm ordering more for myself & gifts!
Wanted to Love, but...
I was not impressed. i tried out during my Thanksgiving cooking and almost burnt them cooking the onions in the fry pan. No thanks... i will stick with my old fashion wooden spoons. I bought a set for my sister thinking this would be a great gift. They will both be going back.
I couldn't wait to get these, I ordered 2 sets and tonight had to throw away the last one. One by one the wood started to split in the middle, very disappointed in the quality
Great for Lefties
Bought two sets for me and my son (both lefties). Have used many types of wooden spoons and spatulas over the years, even leftie handmade spatulas, and found these to be the best that I've ever used. Great for use in getting the last drops out of jars, etc. They are an unusual shape which accommodates getting large amounts out of jars. Great also for using to mix ingredients. Have been using for many months now and would recommend them to anyone.
One word sums up a spurtle "handy". Use for stirring, getting to those hard to reach corners and sides of dishes, flipping, serving,... Need I say more.
I didn't know how useful these would be.
These shapes work so much better than the standard wooden spoons. I love these. I was concerned about the bamboo wood, but I read about the care of wooden utensils and what is recommended is to keep them treated with mineral oil. (You can find mineral oil at the drug store or grocery store. It is of a food grade and if you swallow spoonfuls of it , it will act as a laxative, but not a problem for treating the spurtles, I paid a little over $3.00 for a bottle.) Yes, you can find hardwood spurtles, but they cost a lot more and the shape is not the same as these. Treating the wood with olive oil is not recommended as it gets rancid with time.
Perfect Kitchen Addition
I'm a big fan of Lucinda Scala's and had heard about her Spurtle Set. I was therefore thrilled to catch the latest show and have the ability to place an order. I set out planning to just order one for my family but decided it would be the perfect gift for our extended family as well. So I ordered 10 sets!
The order came well wrapped and very quickly. We have already started to use them and particularly love using them when cooking eggs. They are quickly becoming our go-to kitchen tool when preparing meals. Love them!
a cook's fave
We loved our first set and it has done very well in the kitchen...so we bought a 2nd set. and they are terrific with sauces, spreading, stirring or scrambling the eggs. clean up well with soap and water and towel dry. It's good gift for anyone that cooks a little or often!
