About Identity Stronghold

About Identity Stronghold and the Founder, Walt Augustinowicz

Identity Stronghold is one of the leading providers of RFID security sleeves and badge holders, offering a full line of products, including card and badge holders, sleeves for credit cards and passports, and protective wallets.

Identity Stronghold recognized the need for privacy protection for RFID chipped items in 2005. Founder Walt Augustinowicz, an RFID security expert, consumer advocate, and current CEO, ensures the company's RFID products meet high standards.

Walt has visited with nearly 100 radio, print, and television outlets throughout the U.S, Canada, Germany, England, Japan, Australia, Kuwait, and the UAE, who have reported on the threat and ease of electronic pick-pocketing.

Their stories have collectively garnered more than 30 million views online. He recently presented to state and federal law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals Service, Financial Surveillance Unit, and anti-fraud task forces via a mixture of private briefings and public trade shows.

Walt also published a free online video titled, "Dispelling Myths: Straight Talk on RFID Security" to help consumers understand the possible threat, and empower them with facts in order to take action to help protect themselves.

What Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is, and why you may need it

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology is embedded in billions of chip-enabled credit and debit cards, "wearable wallets," contactless point-of-entry keys and badges, smartphones, and other devices. The technology allows the user to wave the RFID product in front of a commercial reader during the point of sale (POS) or checkout, transmitting data wirelessly, thereby circumventing the need to physically swipe or connect the transaction with the authorized user.

However, these RFID chips may also allow tech-savvy thieves with commercially available card readers purchased online to remotely skim card data, and use it to commit payment and identity fraud, without ever laying a hand on the victim.

You can help to protect yourself because the same RFID technology that enables contactless payment, enables a contactless crime called electronic pick-pocketing.

Electronic pick-pocketing can take place in crowded areas like malls, airports, college campuses, sporting events, and other busy areas that allow thieves to operate, and the victims might never know it happened until they receive their credit card statement.

Help to save yourself the time and effort needed to clear up a growing identity and financial crime occurring in a world dominated by technology.

great little wallet for on the go shopping, walking, day trip & safe to have don't think twice on this Also bought the men's wallet my husband loves it Also bought the women's wallet in pink I love it the pink is a nice pink not neon pink Also bought the extra sleeves to use in other wallets I already have to be safe its worth every penny 03-04-14
Ok ... but Stiff and awkward. Would be better if the zipper went down the side with a gusset to make access easier. I'd send back but it wasn't that expensive and I'd have to pay that pesky return shipping charge. Stick with your own wallet and the guard cards to put in front and behind your cards. Maybe the fabric mini wallet on their website in this design wouldn't be so stiff and easier to see which card you need to get out. 03-03-14
GREAT for ON-THE-GO days !! I bought the red so I could find it easily in my purse --then when I go for that "quick trip" to the store I can grab it. I put my drivers license and credit card and some cash in it and I am off. I know my information on those cards is safe too, even in my jacket pocket. I trust QVC to sell a product that really does what it advertises. 02-26-14
very pleased Only 4 stars because the leather could have been nicer. I'm used to a small wallet so this was a perfect fit for me. Am very pleased with my purchase. 02-23-14
felt protected love these and went on a trip and felt as though i was ahead of the game. fits all my cards and even gave away one set to family who were gonna travel unexpected. they were pleased to get these and they felt protected also. can put money in them also and only carry this in your pocket and not have a purse to worry about. 02-20-14
Feel more secure Love the construction - nice zipperarea - I have the chip &pins - You HAVE TO ASK for them - after the wonderful Target issue - called all my cc companies & had them send chip & pin cards - no problems & happy to send- since we travel out of country - this will come in handy- husband works out of town - so this is great for him too! 02-14-14
Disappointed- Card Sleeves Didn't Fit Wallets We tried to fit the card sleeves in my husband's wallet slots for his credit cards, and it would not fit. They were too tight and long to fit. I was bummed out because i wanted us both protected. I could have used the wallet for my cards but I am used to carrying more cards for restaurants, the grocery store and reward cards for places I shop. Could not get them all in the zipper compartment in the middle. So I sent everything back. I am thinking of getting Travelon's purse with the FRID wallet. I think it would work better for me. Still have to do something for my husband too. I wish this FRID stuff was built into the entire wallet for everyone now a days. It should be standard for us. Please make the sleeves to fit the credit cards AND our wallet slots. 02-14-14
Mini Wallets and RFID Card Sleeves REview These Wallets and Card Sleeves are ultra nice. They can protect your credit, debit and bank cards from being illegally scanned as you shop and travel. Everyone needs the extra safety provided by these products. 02-02-14
Mixed results Yes, the wallet is thin with nice leather. The problem is the RFD that it is supposed to block, is dependent on the card itself. It did block the signal from the Port Authority PATH smart card BUT did not block the signal from an apartment entry card - that works similar to the PATH card. Just hold it in front of the receiver to activate the door unlocking. So before you have full confidence in its effectiveness - test it out if you are concerned whether your cards can be read by a reader or not. That being said, the wallet is very thin, holds a driver's license as well as several cards in the zippered compartment in addition to the three external credit card slots. I only gave it two stars because it was not universally effective, but would recommend it - if you know to try out and know what works and what doesn't 01-30-14
VERY COOL Idea These are very cool. I have given them to all my road warrior friends who were thrilled to get them (VP's) as we all fear loosing our Identities in airports. The construction of the wallet is nice and professional looking, the covers last and hold up nicely. Excellent value 01-29-14
QUESTIONABLE!!!!! I purchased these recently and earlier I bought the purse and wallet. However, I don't think that the US credit card companies are issuing cards with the chip and pin technology . It is too expensive. This has been on the business news a lot. Do some serious research and learn what is going on I don't think these protect the magnetic strip on the average American issued credit cards. I will be making phone calls to both ID Stronghold and my credit card companies. If you can get a chip and pin card and travel overseas with a needed passport these would be a necessity. 01-25-14
