Rated 5 out of 5 by Arthur L Incredible Soundstage and Detailed sound
I was a high end audio business owner 20 years ago.. I sold some crazy high priced stuff. Then, Bose was considered an average home audio company. Then along came the computer audio era. Over the past few years Bose has found its real talent, computer speakers and headphones. These are some of the most detailed speakers I have heard AT ANY PRICE. Beware however, they will reveal problems and sound bright with bad electronics driving them, and should only be used with high bit rate recordings. They are light in the bass, but amazing for a speaker so tiny. Incredible imaging for 299.00..

these are my first bose speakers. i got them to go with my mac. i can really tell a difference when I'm playing a song that i know is about to get really loud and usually sounds horrible on other speakers, then the part plays and it sounds awesome on these speakers. i used to wish they were wireless too until i found my old ipod shuffle and there's no bluetooth on those so i was glad i had a wire to hook it too because i love the songs that i had on the shuffle. can't complain about these speakers. for christmas i put them on my mantle in between decorations so that i could play christmas music in the house while family was visiting. perfect size for hiding.

PROS: I received these small, elegantly styled computer speakers on 26 Oct 12. I had them set up in 5 minutes, max. Being a serious music listener, I had high expectations, which was the sole reason I chose this model over the Bose 3-piece sub/satellite system. At first listen, the Bose hi-fi sound signature was immediately present... airy with a wide, delicate and pristine mid/treble sound field; their imaging totally enveloped my 17" computer screen with full-range sound.
CONS: The speakers often exhibited noticeable distress when rendering deep bass tones... even when the volume was pulled back... $299.00 to me is not a small amount of money to pay for computer speakers. This speaker's driver distress was immediately noticeable! The problem could not be corrected due to the active circuitry that can't be bypassed which the speaker uses to equalize its sound... the passive radiators did a poor job of deep bass play back, often giving off a bass thud. I would say the speaker's sound was decent 60% of the time... I believe the 40% distress problem could be overcome if Bose refined its method of venting the systems.
Word of Note: These speaker's craftsmanship and internal technology is Second to None when compared to other computer speakers in this price range. I consider this mineature speaker set true high end... only Bose could pull this kind of exceptional sound off with speakers that are small enough to fit in the palm of your hand!

These are without a doubt the best computer speakers I've ever had. I do video editing and need good speakers as well as headphones - these speakers fill the bill.

I purchased these to upgrade the speakers I use with my laptop and Ipod. The speakers I replaced were Bose medamates, so I was curious to see how much better these would be.Needless to say it was phenominal. Rich, crisp, clean, and portable too. Worth every penny.
