Birki's by Birkenstock Moorea Soft Footbed Sandals
I really like this style and was in hopes I would be able to use it but the sizing or make of this sandal is off. As I hold the sandal in my hand you can see that it has a high/low side that pushes my foot at an angle from front to back. I have over 20 prs of Birkenstock's and I usually get the 42R. I could use a 43N but it's a rarity to find that size. This sandal does run narrow in the footbed but the straps are set wide. I have them ready to return unfortunately. Wish I could have used them because they are fairly attractive as Birkie's go.
Luv my Birki's!
I have over 10 pairs of Birki's and this is my 1st pair with the soft footbed. Love this new pair. Got the teal color...super cute! Hope they hold up as well as my regular Birki's.
I've worn the Birkenstock line for many years, and this soft footbed is even better! This is my second pair of the Moorea style, and I'm thinking of ordering another color.
I have ordered and loved so many Birkenstocks on QVC. I am hoping that they will be offered again on a show in the near future for spring/summer. I bought these by browsing the internet but I was so unhappy with the champagne color. I returned these but I am sure I will buy more in the future. They are 1 of the only 2 brands of shoes that I can wear.
This is a very attractive and comfortable shoe. If you are going to do lots of walking and shopping this is a good shoe to wear for that. This is my second pair of these (ordered the gold ones shown in the pic before).
Comfortable but wide
Love the shoes, but the reg width is too wide. It would be nice if QVC offered the Narrow.
Luv these! So comfortable and cute....my first Birki's and I bought 2 pairs. Will buy more!
New, old, favorite
I have always been a Birki's fan, but just tried the soft footbed for the first time. I am now a new fan!! Love this footbed. Of course I love the shoes also but this footbed is like walking on air. Now my other Birki's (and I have about 12 pairs) feel hard compared to these. Will be looking for styles with the soft footbed from now on. Thanks Birkenstock for the new footbed and thanks QVC for bringing them to us.
I HAVE A PAIR I CAN WEAR SINCE THEY HAVE A SOFT INSOLE AS I HAVE BONE SPURS ON THE OUT SIDE OF MY LITTLE TOES AND THEY FLOAT AROUND SO NOW THESE ARE MADE SO I CAN WEAR THEM.
Great sandals, but QVC left out some information!
I have many pairs of Birkenstock sandals and shoes, but until now only one pair with the soft footbed. I like it so much that I would prefer only sandals/shoes with the soft footbed after having one pair. I saw the QVC program on Birki's and decided to order these. There were several styles with the soft footbed at similar prices. I chose based on the pretty design of the sandals, the delicate-looking straps, and the double straps since I tend to have trouble keeping the single-strap styles on without walking out of them/having them fall off my feet. These sandals are as pretty as I expected and they do have the soft footbed.
However, neither the QVC TV show nor the QVC website mentions that this style (Moorea) apparently comes in the Narrow width. I can tell by how they fit and also by the little black footprint design stamped in the footbed. Also, just visually I can compare them to my Florida sandals with soft footbed and they look much smaller in the same size.
I can wear them, but what Birkenstock calls the "Mittel", i.e. "Medium" in English, width, is actually rather wide compared to American-made shoes. It is the best width for me. My feet are a AAA width in the heels but a C width in the toes. The wider "Medium" Birkenstock width has always been perfect for my feet, unlike most American shoes that are too narrow in the toes and metatarsals.
In the past this "Medium" width was the standard/default width for Birkenstock sandals, and by far the most common width that most Birkenstock sandals ever came in, so it never occurred to me that these would come in the narrower width. Had I known, I might have ordered one of the other styles that were also very nice and were similarly priced at the time, but came in the usual wider width--if they had given this information about each style, which they did not. It's an important distinction with Birkenstock sandals. I am very lucky I can just barely fit my feet into some Narrow styles, though the wider "Medium" is much better and is ideal for me.
I do love my new sandals, but I just wish QVC had mentioned the narrower width of this style. Certain Birkenstock styles automatically come in Narrow (like the Ibiza, which I think was discontinued). In a whole hour of programming, nothing was ever mentioned about the width of any of the styles for sale.
I do appreciate QVC for offering lower prices than I found on the Birkenstock website itself! They only had certain styles for $80 or $90, but ALL of the sandals with soft footbeds were uniformly $130.00. So QVC did save me money. I would like to ask that in the future, though, they should state whether any style of Birkenstock sandals they are selling come in the standard "Mittel" or "Medium" Birkenstock width, which is actually wider than American shoes, like a C width; or in the less common Narrow width, which only certain styles come in, instead.
One other thing: I don't know if it's the narrower width, something else about the style, or a combination; but these sandals are much lighter-weight than all of my other, older Birkenstock sandals. While I do like the lighter weight, I also notice I don't feel the cushy feeling of the soft footbeds as much as I did in my Birkenstock Florida sandals when they were brand new. These feel a little bit less hard to my sensitive feet than the Birkenstock sandals without the soft footbeds, but not as soft, thick, and cushy as the Florida sandals. I'm not sure why. Nevertheless, they are lovely; but they would be more comfortable if slightly wider.
NOTE: I was going to provide sizing help, but changed my mind because of the descriptors: these sandals are NOT narrower "than marked"; they ARE marked as Narrow by the traditional Birkenstock black footprint in the footbed. The problem is that QVC did NOT disclose that this style comes in Birkenstock's Narrow width rather than its usual wider "medium" width. It's not an issue of sizing by the manufacturer, but of incomplete information offered by the seller. Thanks.
Love this Birki. I got the black. Love the soft footbed; love the style, love the fit (narrow). Perfect!
Love - Love
I love these soft footbed sandals. I ordered one pair and liked them so well that I ordered a second pair. I have trouble with my feet and cannot walk long before I start having foot pain. I wore these shoes to Walmart and walked a couple of hours before I noticed my feet were not hurting at all. I wish they had a choice of more neutral colors.
