What is it: The Beachwaver Co. S1 is a ceramic rotating curling iron that helps you create three different hair styles--defined curls, loose beachy waves, and glam waves. Its features include an arrow button and a fast/slow speed switch, plus a new home button that gives you the ability to reset the clamp at the start position for easy styling.

Who is it for: All hair types, catering to the everyday woman looking for a red-carpet look in minutes.

Why is it different: The Beachwaver Co. S1 provides easy, quality waves in minutes. The ceramic barrel distributes even heat from top to bottom. It comes equipped with a digital temperature clock, dual rotation, a speed switch for fast/slow rotation, swivel cord, and a home button to return the clamp to the starting position.

How do I use it: Hold the ON button for three seconds to turn the S1 on. Set the temperature depending on hair type by holding the -/+ button to adjust. First, start by sectioning hair on each side with a darby clip (not included). Start from the bottom and continue to add more hair once each section is all curled.

Hold the S1 upright in front of you with the clamp facing inwards. Take a 1" section of hair and place the ends into the clamp. The amount of ends left out will determine which type of curl you're looking for. Once the hair is secured into the clamp, push the arrow button facing away from your face. Continue to push down on the arrow button to curl the entire piece of hair. Once the entire piece of hair is wrapped around the S1, hold for three to four seconds. Unclamp the hair and slowly pull the S1 straight down from the curl to create the perfect wave.

Click on the home button to return the clamp to the starting position for styling. Repeat these steps on the opposite side. Use the fast/slow switch to change the rotation speed of the barrel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Only tool that works on my hair I have long hair that is medium thickness. I use it on my air dried hair with no product in it to start or a heat protectant. I love to curl away from my face and hold it for about 4-5 seconds. It is important to open the clamp and pull the iron down to release it. Leave it to cool before brushing or anything this makes my curls last longer. It only takes me about 10 min to do my hair. My favorite way to soften is to use a flex hairspray and brush out to make even softer. I honestly was never able to curl my hair before this product. I definitely recommend to anyone with shoulder to long hair and who wants an high quality tool. 09-02-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very Good! I love this! At first it took a while to get it down but once you do it doesn't take long at all! Before I bought this item I had never really curled my hair because I have dexterity problems from a stoke I had. This item works wonderfully! Thank you so much! :) 09-02-16
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not worth the money I have used this a few times. It has to be very hot to give the waves so I worry about burning my hair. It's very time consuming to do all your hair and I only have shoulder length hair. I get better waves with an inexpensive Conair curling iron. This is way too expensive and unless you want to sit there for a long time trying to "wave" your hair, don't buy it. I wish I had used it right away because I would have sent it back. I bought it as a gift and the person had one already so I thought I'd keep it myself. Big mistake! 08-16-16

Rated 4 out of 5 by So fun to use, great results! A group of friends and I decided to try this out for a ladies night. It was super fun to use -- you just clamp your hair in and then the tool does all the work. We used it on a variety of textures/lengths, from fine shoulder-length hair to longer, frizzier hair (that had been straightened), and the results varied but everyone looked great. You have to sort of comb your fingers through after to get the natural, textured, beachy waves. It does require a little bit of skill, but it's easier to use than traditional curling irons. 07-19-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by not for coarse, thick hair After watching this presentation many times, I finally ordered this curling iron. I have thick, coarse, red hair. It curls easily and holds curl for days. I’ve used a Conair curling iron for years with ease but decided this iron would give some variety and maybe take less time. I got a hair cut right before I received this iron and though the heinous outcome was due to a bad haircut. So, yesterday I returned to my standby curling iron. My hair did great. With the Beachwaver, it did not do well at all. Not only does this take forever to do (I have shoulder length hair) but it leaves bends at the ends and also the curl falls out so fast. I have NEVER had curl fall out. I think it might be due to the fact that this iron only heats one side of the hair. I watched the videos. I followed the instructions. It was fun to use but just took too long and the results were terrible. I hate that I wasted my money on shipping and time on this appliance. I know better. I’m so glad this works for many women but it doesn’t for someone with my type hair clearly. 07-10-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by I love it! I am so happy with this product! Finally I can easily do my hair and have it look great! After curling, I just run my fingers through my hair and it is perfect! By far this is one of my best purchases ever! 07-10-16
Rated 2 out of 5 by Awkward to Use I've wanted one of these for a long time. I finally decided to try it when Carolyn Gracie was presenting and she showed how cute it was for shorter hair. My hair is a little longer, so I thought it would work great. The concept is good, but I found this to be exceptionally awkward to use. The unit is way too long and the controls are directly in the path of where I want to hold it when I DON'T want the barrel to rotate. The clip to hold your hair is also just too small. Just very awkward all around to use. I can see how it would work better for really long hair, but I'll stick to my Instyler for the curls. Sadly, back it went. 07-06-16
