Kirks Folly first hit our airwaves in 1992. Over the next 21 years, the Kirk family’s whimsical jewelry made QVC history with a loyal following. Now, after a five-year hiatus, it turns out Kirks Folly is still a favorite.
It’s QVC jewelry buyer Danielle’s job to watch the trends closely. “We were seeing that old was becoming new again when it came to retired brands, so we thought 'Why not give it a try?'” Soon Jenniefer Kirk was back in front of the camera.
Sister Act
Helen Kirk is the designer for the sister-run business, and has been for decades. Of course, we want to know where she gets her magnificent ideas. Jenniefer explained, “We find our inspiration from everything magical around us, and especially from our customers.” Holidays are magical, and many pieces celebrate special dates on our calendars. “We design original pieces every year for each holiday—the Halloween and Christmas themes being the most popular.”
The Kirks Folly collection includes pins, bracelets, earrings, and more, but for Danielle it’s the necklaces that catch her attention. “I always seem to go for the statement necklaces as they are breathtaking. They always have a lot of details and tell a story.” When Jenniefer is asked the “what’s-your-favorite” question, she has a different answer. “My favorite pieces are the Seaview Moons. Each one seems to reflect the light from within. The Seaview Moon symbolizes that we are never alone—we are all together under that full moon—protected and watched over. She is quite glorious.”
