InsideQ: When do you start decorating for the holidays?
Stacey: Black Friday. My mother hated crowds, so we would pull out the decorations, throw our favorite holiday albums on the record player, and spend the day trimming the tree and eating turkey leftovers!
InsideQ: Any holiday traditions?
Stacey: Every Christmas Eve we went to midnight mass. The church would be packed, but there was no better way to usher in Christ’s birthday than with the smell of frankincense and the angelic voices of our choir.
InsideQ: Favorite holiday ornament?
Stacey: The twinkling star on top of the tree. Something about it always felt so magical.
InsideQ: Favorite holiday food?
Stacey: My grandmother’s kiffles. She made the sweetest-tasting nut version. I loved her cookies, but more importantly I loved the day she and I would spend together making them.
InsideQ: Wishes for the New Year?
Stacey: Peace and health—two of the greatest gifts I could ask for anyone.
InsideQ: When do you start decorating for the holidays?
Katie: Holiday decorations start going up the day after Thanksgiving.
InsideQ: Any holiday traditions?
Katie: Baking Christmas cookies and a secret Santa stocking exchange with my immediate family. Christmas Eve has always been the big gathering for the McGee family. Jason and I took over the tradition last year and plan to continue it this year.
InsideQ: Favorite holiday ornament?
Katie: The ones that have been passed down over generations. Jason and I also have several that we’ve had since we were babies. The moment you take them out of the box, Christmas memories begin!
InsideQ: Favorite holiday food?
Katie: My Nanny’s sugar cookies, snickerdoodles, Mawny’s (my grandmother’s) mushrooms, and spicy cocktail meatballs. These are holiday staples in our house.
InsideQ: Wishes for the New Year?
Katie: May 2018 bring happiness, health, and prosperity for all. Happy New Year!
InsideQ: When do you start decorating for the holidays?
Amy: I like Thanksgiving to feel like Thanksgiving, then we decorate for Christmas the weekend after.
InsideQ: Any holiday traditions?
Amy: We always have Christmas at my parents’. They’ve lived in the same house since I was three, so it will always be home for the holidays.
InsideQ: Favorite holiday ornament?
Amy: I don’t have one, but as soon as I get my first homemade ornament from Bree or Clay that will be it.
InsideQ: Favorite holiday food?
Amy: Bring on the sweet potato casserole!
InsideQ: Wishes for the New Year?
Amy: That we’re blessed with another happy healthy year!
