Cheers! Clink your glasses together for a toast to fall flavors.
To prepare the infused vodka, place the vodka, ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla in a lidded jar. Close the lid and let the ingredients infuse overnight. The following day, remove the ginger, cinnamon, and vanilla to ensure the vodka isn't flavored too strongly.
To prepare the simple syrup, put the sugar, water, and ginger slices in a small saucepan. Stir together and bring to a boil, then remove from the heat and let cool. Take out the ginger slices and discard, saving the ginger-flavored simple syrup.
To prepare the drink and garnish, start with a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Pour in 4 oz infused vodka, 4 oz pear nectar, 1 oz simple syrup, 2 dashes bitters, and the juice of 1 lemon wedge. Place on the lid and give it a good shake. Strain the cocktail into 2 martini glasses and garnish with a slice of pear and a cinnamon stick.
When there's a kid-filled crowd, substitute non-alcoholic ginger beer for the vodka so everyone can enjoy!
