Chive Bacon Ranch Popcorn

Chive Bacon Ranch Popcorn

David Venable

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 5 slices bacon cooked and chopped very small (like bacon bits)
  • 2 Tbsp reserved bacon fat
  • 1 Tbsp canola oil
  • 2/3 cup popcorn kernels
  • 3 Tbsp chives, finely chopped
  • 1 Tbsp ranch dressing powder mix
  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp salt

Preparation

Preheat a large stockpot (6-qt) on medium heat. Add the bacon fat and canola oil to the pan and put 3 kernels of popcorn in. Once the kernels are popped, the pan is hot enough to add the rest of the popcorn.

After adding the kernels, put the lid on the pot and shake the pan continuously so as not to burn them, for about 3 to 4 minutes. Once the popping sounds start slowing down, turn the heat off while the last few kernels are popping.

Pour into a large bowl and immediately drizzle melted butter over the hot popcorn, then add the ranch powder, chives, and chopped bacon. Toss to coat.
