Rated 1 out of 5 by from What A Shame Receive my Bose sound bar today extremely excited to get it set up. I started with the audio optical cable Which never had a solid connection the cable would not stay connected to the sound bar every time I plug it in it would fall out I didn’t go any further I packed everything back up and I shipped it back to QVC I was really hoping that this was going to be a great product unfortunately it was not for me. After reading a couple other reviews I noticed that other people had the same issue with the audio optical cable seems to be a problem maybe not for everyone but for a few. At a price of $200 it needs to be pretty perfect for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great small footprint sound great too Great simple system very small footprint I enjoy it because it is not a smart tech device as well- meaning it is not connected to Alexa or any of the "AI"which I did not want for privacy reasons. Really really classy small sophisticated and it's nice that you can add other speakers to the system if wanted. I hope both continues to consider customers that do not want a i and their units as with televisions many of us do not want AI products we'd rather have low Tech and have privacy and quality that way :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worthy of the Bose name We bought this today, when we had to buy a new tv that wouldn’t connect to our analog audio receiver. It’s getting returned tomorrow. It’s either loud or not. The “bass” is laughable. No control over the sound, just noise and treble. This actually changed my mind about ever buying another Bose product. HUGE disappointment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sound with one snag We bought our son a previous version of this sound bar, it came with a mounting wall bracket and had better bass when backed up near a wall, TV... This Solo 5 doesn’t come with a wall bracket and seems to still produce good bass even away from a wall (TV, etc). The only snag was that it doesn’t read DTS but it does Dolby. So, for a few DVDs it wouldn’t play the audio track once the movie started. The way around it was to plug the optical cable (from) the TV into the Bose. Overall, we’re really happy with this - it’s a huge improvement over the TV speakers. Well worth the small price tag.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor connections Right out of the box I attempted to connect to the TV using an optical cable. The optical cable could not make a working connection to the sound bar because the receptacle in the unit is faulty. Was able to connect with RCA's as an analog connection. Had the same trouble with my old Wave radio - very poor connections on the back of the unit. The bass 'boost' does not work well for TV sound. My wife hates the overall sound. It took forever for the unit to arrive, so I am not going to go through the hassle of trying to send it back to get another one. Liked the sound on the Wave radio, but the CD player started eating CD's. This is not a good example of Bose technology.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but volume too low The product does enhance the voice over music but the volume only goes up to a minimum.
