Rated 5 out of 5 by from Over all great product and very convenient Very convenient cleans the entire house in a short amount of time. Self adjusting depending on surface is a great feature. Also the vacuum itself last longer in quiet mode. The smart map is also great for spot cleaning.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love My Roomba! I love my new Roomba! We owned a 600 series for years before taking the plunge with the new S series. I am supper impressed. It cleans corners and edges super well. I also love that it's mapping feature allows it to know where it has already been cutting the run time down to a fraction of the 600 series. I do find that I clean my hair out of the rollers more often with the rubber rollers then I had to with the older version (I realized this when my hair cut through the roller resulting in me needing to replace it but IRobot was very accommodating for this). I wish it were a little quieter on hard floors (it's not too bad on carpet). It may be the rollers or the corner brush that is making the extra noise? All in all, I am VERY happy with this purchase and would do it again!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Minimal Improvement over Predecessor After two months of ownership I can definitely say I wish I had used the 30 day return policy. The brushes for this unit degrade very quickly and have poor quality control. The first set of brushes were extremely noisy, unfortunately tech support was unable to hear the noise due to the noise cancelling microphone in my phone. It was far louder than any other Roomba I've owned and was caused by the poor brush bearings which allowed the brushes to rattle. The brush material tore very quickly just on carpet/tile flooring. After purchasing a replacement set the noise went away and the unit was about the same volume as the i7 series (almost silent), much quieter than the 900 series. Suction power with this unit is amazing, but once the brushes tear the robot becomes a cat coaster (ie. useless). Other than the brushes the hardware seems solid. The wider rollers make vacuuming faster than old models. I expected great things from the new navigation system, but was sorely disappointed. The unit gets lost just like it's predecessors for seemingly no reason. Despite being in the same room as the home base when pressing the Home button the unit only reaches parking position ~20% of the time. I ran the mapping runs several times and the robot consistently failed to locate all of my rooms. It failed to find a different room each time! Even with a full map the unit fails to complete it's job ~75% of the time which means you'll need to carry it back to base when you get home. We pay premium prices for iRobot technology, but this model doesn't justify the additional cost as it brings nothing new to the game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I want this new self-unloading one! BUT now? We've owned 2 of the 900 Series Roomba. My main dislike was that it filled quickly with our 4 dogs' hairs. I'd find the units dead underneath beds or furniture. Now to recharge it would take hours. So, cleaning would be incomplete. Upon picking up each unit, to bring it back to the charge station, It'd fall right out of my hands because I'd unknowingly grab it from the pull out trash tray! Twice same accident. First time they kindly replaced my unit. I was so proud of my purchase. But the second time, within 3 months, too bad-so sad! $900 down the drain! So, thought this unit would be my solution. After reading these reviews, sounds like this one needs a lot of improvements before I'd pay this much money for a vacuum.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I ever live before without one of these. We use the S9+ almost every day to vacuum the ceramic tile floor of pet hair and dirt. We also let it clean the carpet in the TV room about two times a week. I love the way the Roomba vacuums, it gets into hard to reach areas that we normally would have to get out the skinny nozzle on the regular vacuum to reach. The unit works flawlessly 95% of the time and the 5% failure rate is due to us not doing a quick visual inspection of the room before sending it out. Specifically it will pick up a long shoe lace and try to pull the sneaker in. At that point it jams and starts to cry out for help. It also has gotten caught on power cords lying on the ground and a plastic bag that was left on the carpet. These are all our fault since when we normally vacuum the rooms we would move those items for the same reasons. Maybe iRobot can come up with a way for the rollers to reverse when they pick up a shoe lace or wire.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Unfortunately this his disappointment This is my third Roomba. Unfortunately this model is a disappointment. I don't see any any improvement or benefit as compared to previous models.. It gets stuck every single time in the same location. In addition this damage/ scrape the legs of the office chair. It is loud and harsh on rugs. It was a bad investment. I don't think this model will survive without major redesign.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I am thus far overall satisfied with my purchase. The robot literally will get stuck every time on my 1 inch shaggy carpet - so we ended up get a normal half inch thick carpet for that area (in the family room). The first floor where it primarily vacuums it does a very good job, so much so that we did not need to vacuum all week... and my household consists of 3 young children and a 100lb mastiff! The automatic disposal (the plus feature) is very useful as we don't have to worry about constantly emptying the vacuums debris. No buyers remorse here! And for what it's worth we also got the paired mop - which does a "good enough" job... love having clean floors with minimal effort! I am looking forward to the Keep Out Zones - which would have been useful with my shaggy rug problem. I took a star away because of iRobots failure to mention that it will not work on thick/shaggy carpet.
