Rated 5 out of 5 by from How did I live without this? We just put hard wood floors in our home and found that while we love the hard wood, we don't love the dog/cat hair that is so easily visible. After figuring out that no one wanted to sweep the floors every night, lol, we ordered this Roomba. It is quiet, does a great job and keeps our floors pet hair free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from INCREDIBLE My aunt told me she had two of these so she never vacuums but unfortunately, I have stairs...I wish the company would make something for stairs but until then, I have my Dyson V10. However, for my upstairs NEW carpet I got installed a month ago never has to go without a good clean thanks to this little guy! I named mine Simon. I LOVE IT SO MUCH, NOW contemplating buying another one. I love technology!!! If you have new carpet or can't stand dust/dirt like I can't (I am from Japanese decent so we take our shoes off at the door but for some reason this guy keeps picking it up???) Just glad I have him so I will always have clean floors!!

Anyway, I just received two in the mail (one for upstairs and one for downstairs) and I love them already. Fantabulous! I’ve been following them around like a proud parent with a toddler that just learned to walk saying, ‘look at what it can do!’. My house looks great. I may never sweep again! It is performing as promised. On top of being very lazy, I also have Lupus and some days my body is just not up to carrying the vacuum up and down the stairs. When I saw the little guy cross from the carpet in the TV room, into my kitchen and then sweep underneath EVERY cabinet, I almost broke into song! WORTH EVERY PENNY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Little Guys I bought 2 of these more then 20 years ago. Mother was legally blind and lived 5 hours away. She had house keeping help but they did the pathways which she could do. The rest of her 2200sf carpet wasn’t getting done. I sent her one and we had one so I could tell her which button or knob to use. We planned on returning ours. With 2 chihuahua and a lab, we kept ours. They still work like new. They just don’t return to the charger, they just stop. If they get caught under a piece of furniture they make sad little noises so you can come help. They still can pick up dust, chi hair and dander AFTER the Dyson animal and the latest Shark. Money very well spent. Smaller dust bin but used often they don’t get over filled. These will catch on fringe and cords. I just watch them. They will stop and make chiming noises. They won’t eat the rug. Then in 2004 mil wanted one too. That one has the timer, slightly larger dust bin, noticed a dirtier area and spends more time there, and can return to its charging dock. This unit will realize it’s on fringe or cords and will go into reverse. If for some reason it thinks it has s problem with either, it will stop and chime at you. I’ve never had it pull a lamp off. iRobot has the best customer service. Over the years we’ve had questions, they’ve always had answers. They have asked the serial # so they know which units we have. I’ve purchased a couple of the kits for about $50 that contain new batteries, brushes, filters, etc. They’ve also sent a couple of those kits for free. I would love a newer one with more bells and whistles but I don’t think I’d really get a better product. Just one that has a few more bells and whistles. These do a fantastic job on Berber as well as smooth floors. These are round, I have 2 corners in my whole house I have to help with. The carpet is slightly stretched and raised at those 2, I just take a broom or the crevice tool to them. Then the twins can pick up the fuzzies. Part of me wants a new one but the practical part is very happy with the quality and the customer support. My suggestion when you get yours for the first time, block off your house into smaller areas. You will be amazed at what they find and pick up. The dust bin will have more stuff than you can imagine. The newer ones are supposed to run over to the charging bin and empty themselves. Also have sensors to let you know if the bin needs emptying. If you have pets, they will need emptying. Having had these for so long, the only negative for me has been ONE little old chi who didn’t always need to use the puddle pad. Having one on a timer, for me, could have been a disaster. I would do a quick look for “gifts” and then start one or more roombas. Every home needs these. Yes, if one of these ever quits or even slows, I’ll definitely get another.
