The good: The unit looks great, has Qi and USB charging capabilities that work well, and has a speaker that’s good enough for a bedside application. The bad: If you’re considering purchasing it, you’ve likely read the reviews about the unit’s awkward controls and the issues with the “Snooze/Dimmer” mechanism. I can tell you with 100% certainty that while using the Qi charger on my iPhone 8, any app alert (e.g., Calendar, News, Amazon, eBay, etc.) will actuate the Snooze/Dimmer “button”. I “button” is not a button in the strict sense that it’s not mechanical…it’s actually a sensor. Interference from the phone will cause the dimmer function to cycle through its settings. It will go from High…to Level 3…to Level 2…to Low…and then start all over again. The iHome engineers weren’t having a good day that day. All that being said, I KEPT THE DARN THING!!! I like it enough to put up with the annoying features and just hope iHome can come up with a fix with a firmware update – which you access through the iHome app.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Loved it when it worked Overall design of the clock, Bluetooth speaker, and vertical QI is great. Unfortunately, during the 11 months I've owned it, it would sporadically lock up and show the same time on the clock until I power cycled it. Checking for firmware updates didn't help. Even with this minor annoyance, I enjoyed the Bluetooth speaker and wireless charging until it completely stopped working a couple weeks ago. Now the clock doesn't display anything and the charger doesn't work. Since then I've started looking for another Bluetooth, qi charging clock and think this is still the best design for my application. I'm going to try to v2 version and see how that one pans out. Hopefully it lasts more than a year....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Beware of click issues My clock randomly disappears at least once a month. When this iHome works, it’s great, but when it doesn’t it’s a pain to try to reset. I have followed the directions multiple times and it takes me several times to try to get it working again. Frustrating. I’m ready to get something more reliable. That’s a shame because it wasn’t cheap. Fix this glitch iHome!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall good product with some serious flaws. This device is a bedside clock and Bluetooth speaker. My one gripe has to do with a loud "Looking for Bluetooth signal - connected" message that plays when you turn the device on. There is no way to lower its volume and I just received an email from iHome support stating, "Sorry, there is no way to disable the voice prompt." This may seem to most a trivial issue but if you go to bed last, your spouse may not be too happy with you. It's a shame - seems like it would be such a small fix, even just to be able to lower it's volume. The blinking/solid Bluetooth light on the front should be sufficient. Also, the snooze button is notoriously hard to hit but then I typically use the clock on my phone rather than the alarm built in to the device so this issue doesn't affect me much.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating The clock will change brightness on its own. I have woken up in the middle of the night on many occasions looking for the time and it either won’t be displayed or it’s so bright that it lights up my entire room because the dimness changed on its own. If the dimness were easy to change I might not be as annoyed but having the sensor under the cloth is ridiculous. Sometimes I hit just the right spot but other times I have to tap around forever to change it back to my desired setting. Another issue I have is that sometimes it will randomly beep loudly in the middle of the night. I have never set the alarm clock on the unit because I use the alarm on my phone so I have no clue as to why it does this. These two malfunctions are enough to make me not recommend this product to anyone. A bedside clock whose time feature just turns off on its own? What is the point?
