A: The Age-Defying Laser uses a technology called a fractional laser that treats only a small fraction of your skin at a time. These targeted beams stimulate the body's healing response to produce a therapeutic benefit for wrinkle reduction and skin texture improvement at the treated area.

Q: What safety features does the device have?
A: There are several safety features built into the device including:

• Sensors that don't allow the device to be used unless it is in proper contact with the skin is gliding across to new areas
• Purple treatment indicator light to show when you're treating
• Beeps to ensure you're treating within the recommended times
• Optional locking feature
• Temperature sensor to disable the device if it's too hot or cold
• Non-ablative fractional laser delivers a safe dose within each treatment, only treating a small portion of the skin at a time

Q: When will I start seeing results?
A: Results vary by person, but generally you should first start to notice smoother skin within 2-3 weeks. Wrinkles typically will begin to be less visible after 4-6 weeks but best results occur 2-4 weeks after the full 12-week course of treatment.

Q: Will the Age-Defying Laser prevent signs of aging?
A: The Age-Defying Laser does not prevent the aging process. It is clinically proven to promote smoother skin and reduce fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes.

Q: Can I use the Age-Defying Laser on other body parts besides the face?
A: No, do not use the Age-Defying Laser on an area of the body other than the face. Use of the device on other areas of the body has not been tested and the risks are unknown.

Q: How long will the Age-Defying Laser last?
A: The device is designed to last 3 years with regular use (including its battery pack that is designed to last 400 full charge cycles).

Q: Can I use the Age-Defying Laser if I have received any professional beauty or laser treatments, surgery, injections, or if I have a skin condition?
A: Please consult a healthcare professional first before using the Age Defying laser.

Q: I have pimples, veins or freckles showing on my face; can I use this device?
A: You may use the Age-Defying Laser over pimples, veins, and/or freckles. However, the Age-Defying Laser is not indicated to treat these conditions.

Q: How is the Age-Defying Laser's technology similar to in-office laser treatments?
A: Tria's ADL uses the same technology that is used by dermatologists and plastic surgeons.

Q: Will the device work on wrinkles on other areas of my face besides around the eye?
A: It is indicated for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles (crow's feet), and may help smooth skin overall.

Q: Who can use the Age-Defying Laser?
A: The Age-Defying Laser is intended for men and women over the age of 18 with any skin tone. However, the device should not be used on skin that contains permanent makeup or is tattooed, infected, burned or cut.

Q: Does the Age-Defying Laser work for wrinkles?
A: Yes, the Tria Age-Defying Laser is FDA-cleared for the treatment of periorbital wrinkles (crow's feet).

Q: Will I see benefits if I only use the low setting (training level 1)?
A: No. Training level 1 is only intended to help you get adjusted to the sensation. Once you are adjusted to the sensation, you should use treatment level 2 or 3 for the device to be effective.

Q: Does the Age-Defying Laser hurt?
A: During treatments and for several minutes afterward, you may feel a slight warming, stinging, or prickling sensation, which many users say feels similar to a mild sunburn. The Finishing Serum can help minimize these side effects. Consumers generally find the device tolerable to use. The side effects tend to lessen with continued use.

Q: Which skin reactions should I expect during and/or after treatment?
A: Skin reactions include:

• Temporary redness and mild skin swelling are normal reactions and typically resolve overnight or within 3 days.
• Skin flaking or dryness may occur and typically improve with moisturizer use but may persist throughout the course of treatment for some individuals.
• In addition, it is normal for tiny brownish dots to form on the skin as it heals (may not be visible); these are typically removed with normal cleansing, but for some individuals they may be present throughout the course of treatment.
• If significant redness lasts more than 24 hours, do not treat. Wait until redness has subsided. If redness lasts for more than 1 week, stop using the device and contact a health professional.
• Skin darkening can develop during use of the Age-Defying Laser, especially in individuals with darker skin types or a history of skin darkening. If skin darkening continues, do not treat until the darkening has subsided. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin; sun exposure will worsen the condition.

Q: How close to the eye can I treat? Can I treat my eyelid?
A: The Age-Defying Laser is designed to be used to treat skin around the eyes. It has special safety sensors to ensure the laser will not fire if it is not in contact with the skin. As a rule of thumb, place the device and treat only where you can feel bone beneath the skin. You should not treat your eyes or eyelids or aim the device directly into your eye.

Q: When I am treating, I can't get the purple contact light to stay on consistently.
A: The purple contact light shows you when you are making good contact with your skin, so it's important for it to stay lit while treating. Sometimes it just takes a little practice, so try watching yourself in a mirror for the first few times. Helpful tips:

• Make a slow steady gliding motion
• Press laser flat against skin. Keep full contact with the skin
• Turn the laser sideways like a toothbrush and glide it up and down OR hold the laser up straight and glide it side to side
• Make sure the laser treatment tip is clean (use a lint-free cloth and clean weekly)

Q: How often should I use the Age-Defying Laser?
A: Treat with the Age-Defying Laser 5 days a week for 12 weeks to achieve desired results. After 12 weeks, we recommend taking at least a one-month break to allow the collagen renewal process to continue. During this break, continue to use your anti-aging skincare products. Many of our Age-Defying Laser consumers have chosen to continue use after this break if additional anti-aging benefits are needed.

Q: Do I need to adjust my Age-Defying Laser treatments if I am planning to have an area of my face waxed?
A: No, as long as any skin irritation, redness, or swelling associated with your laser treatment has resolved prior to waxing. You may continue to use your Age-Defying Laser after you wax, provided you do not have any skin irritation or redness. As with any skin treatment, wait until the areas waxed have fully recovered and the redness and/or swelling have dissipated. Do not treat with your laser if your skin is significantly red or swollen from a previous waxing treatment.

Q: What is the purple light and what does it do?
A: The purple light is a treatment indicator (not the actual treatment laser) that turns on when the laser is making good contact and gliding on the skin. If the device is not in good contact, the purple light will stop glowing. It is important that the purple light is glowing while you are treating to ensure that you are treating correctly.

Q: How do I charge my device?
A: We recommend leaving your device in the provided charging cradle when not in use. It will take about 2 hours to fully charge if empty and a full charge will typically last about 2-3 treatments, depending on the treatment level used. Leaving the Age-Defying Laser in the charging cradle will not decrease the lifetime of the battery. Even if not in use, we recommend that the Age-Defying Laser be recharged at least once per month.
