Connecting to the Wireless Stick using an iOS device
  1. Plug the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick into a computer or USB-AC adapter to ensure that it's fully charged. A full charge can take up to two hours.
  2. Install the SanDisk Connect app from the App Store, if not already installed.
  3. Turn on the Wireless Stick by pressing and releasing the power button.
  4. Connect to Wireless Stick Wi-Fi network SanDisk Connect ######.
    1. ###### will be a unique identifier for your specific unit.
    2. iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®: Connect to the Wireless Stick Wi-Fi network through the device settings.
  5. Launch the SanDisk Connect mobile app.
Connecting to the Wireless Stick using an Android device
  1. Plug the SanDisk Connect Wireless Stick into a computer or USB-AC adapter to ensure that it's fully charged. A full charge can take up to two hours.

Q: How can I back up my camera roll/gallery using the Connect Drive app?
A:
You can back up your camera roll to the Wireless Stick by setting up auto-sync or manually syncing as needed.

Using an iOS Device

Automatic Backup
Set up once and transfer your camera roll to the Wireless Stick automatically each time the device is connected.

To set up:
  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. On the app, go to Menu > Camera Roll Backup.
  3. To change the destination of the backed up photos and videos, select the Destination option and your desired location. The default destination is Camera Roll Backup.
  4. Slide the Camera Roll Auto-Backup option to enable.

Note: Backup may take longer than normal the first time. Once set up, only newly added files will be copied to the Wireless Stick.

Manual Backup
Back up your camera roll with the Wireless Stick as needed, using the manual Backup Now option.

To back up:
  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Go to Menu > Camera Roll Backup.
  3. To change the destination of the backed up photos and videos, select the Destination option and your desired location. The default destination is Camera Roll Backup.
  4. Select Backup Now.
  5. All the photos and videos in your Camera Roll will be copied to the Wireless Stick in the folder specified.

Note: Backup may take longer than normal the first time. Once set up, only newly added files will be copied to the drive.

For Android Systems
You can back up your camera roll to the Wireless Stick by setting up Gallery Auto-Backup or manually backing up as needed.

Automatic Backup
Set up once and transfer your gallery to the drive automatically each time the drive is connected.

To set up:
  1. Use the Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. On the app, go to Menu > Settings > Gallery Auto-Backup.
  3. To change the destination of the backed up files on the drive, select the Destination as a folder on the drive. The default destination is Gallery Backup.
  4. Turn on the Gallery Auto-Backup.

Note: Backup may take longer than normal the first time. Once set up, only newly added files will be copied to the drive.

Backup Now
Back up your gallery with the drive as needed using Backup Now.

To back up:
  1. Use the Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Go to Menu > Settings > Gallery Auto-Backup.
  3. To change the destination of the backed up files on the drive, select the destination as a folder on the drive. The default destination is Gallery Backup.
  4. Select Backup Now.
  5. All the files in your gallery will be copied to the drive in the folder specified as the destination.

Q: How can I connect to the Internet while being connected to the Wireless Stick?
A:
We understand how important it is for you to stay connected to the Internet. The Wireless Stick provides two options for your mobile device (phone/tablet) that will allow you to maintain an Internet connection while simultaneously connecting to the Wireless Stick: Mobile Internet (LTE/4G) or a local Wi-Fi network.

Note: Android devices only support the Wi-Fi network option. Android currently does not support cellular coexistence.

Using Mobile Internet
By default, the Wireless Stick will connect to the Internet via mobile Internet (LTE/4G). Your mobile device will connect to the Wireless Stick via Wi-Fi and will remain connected to the Internet via the mobile device's LTE/4G connection.

To view Internet connection status

  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. In the app, choose Menu > Internet Connection.
  3. The LTE icon will show a red dot to indicate LTE/4G mobile Internet mode.

Using Wi-Fi
Joining the Wireless Stick to an existing Wi-Fi network will allow client devices, such as your mobile phone, to access the Wireless Stick and Internet via Wi-Fi.

To configure

  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. In the app, choose Menu > Internet Connection > Connect the drive to a Wi-Fi network.
  3. Choose your preferred network and hit OK.
  4. The Wireless stick will reset and the LED will blink two times rapidly when connected to the Local Area Network (this may take several seconds).
  5. In the iOS Wi-Fi settings, connect the mobile device to the same local area network that was used for the Wireless Stick Internet connection.
  6. Ensure the LED is showing the double blink LED behavior and launch the Wireless Stick App.

Note: Once the Internet connection has been configured, the Wireless Stick LED will blink two times to indicate the internet connection has been established.

Q: How can I change the name for the Wireless Stick Wi-Fi network?
A:
You can choose a name for your drive to make it easier to identify the Wireless Stick.

  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Go to Menu > Settings > Change Drive Name.
  3. In the text box, name the drive and hit OK.

Q: How can I set a password for the Wireless Stick Wi-Fi network?
A:
You can secure the Wi-Fi connection enabled by your drive with a password and restrict the access.

  1. Use the SanDisk Connect mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Go to Menu > Settings > Set Password to Drive.
  3. Enable Security by sliding the controller to the right.
  4. Choose and confirm the password of your choice.

Note: Any future Wi-Fi connection request will require this password.


Android
You can secure the Wi-Fi connection of your drive with a password and restrict the access.

  1. Use the Connect Mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Go to Menu > Settings > Security.
  3. Enable Security.
  4. Choose and confirm the password of your choice.

Q: What file types are supported by the Connect Drive app?

The Connect Drive app supports the following file types:

Documents

Notes:
  1. The SanDisk Connect app only supports viewing of documents. You may be able to use the iOS Open In function to open these and other file types in other apps for additional functionality. The file may need to be saved to your iOS device in order to open the file in other applications.
  2. DRM-encoded content is not supported.
  3. Support for certain audio and video formats may not be available, depending on the compatibility of the host device.

Q: How do I transfer photos from my iPhone or iPad to the Wireless Stick?
A:
You can transfer pictures of videos stored in the camera roll from your iOS device to the Wireless Stick using the Connect Drive app.

  1. Use the Connect Mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Select the add file button +.
  3. When prompted to select files, choose the photos and videos you want to transfer from iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch to the Wireless Stick.
  4. Next Select Destination to specify where to store the files on your Wireless Stick.
  5. Once you have selected the destination select Copy Here at the bottom of the screen.

Note: You can choose the New Folder option to create a new folder as the destination of the file transfer on the Wireless Stick.

Q: How do I transfer photos from my Android device to the Wireless Stick?
A:
You can transfer files from your Android device to the Wireless Stick using the Connect Drive app.

  1. Use the Connect Mobile app to access your Wireless Stick.
  2. Select the add file button +.
  3. You will be prompted to Select from Photos by default. You can change the option from the drop-down menu at the top left to select from videos/music/files.
  4. Select the photos/videos/music/files you want to transfer (long press also initiates select).
  5. Select Destination to specify where to store the files on your drive.
  6. Once you have selected the destination, select Copy Here at the bottom of the screen.

Note: You can choose the New Folder option to create a new folder as the destination of the file transfer on the drive.
