Rated 4 out of 5 by from Would I Recommend This To The Usual Indoor Fan User? I just purchased the fan for indoors given its advertised higher cfm (air delivery) readings. Figuring it is advertised as having a higher cfm than the 723 and a 6303 which I also have, I decided to test this unit up against the others. The difference with this machine is the fan motor moves the blades faster. Still, I really am hard pressed to notice a major difference in the overall amount of air I get over a distance of several or even ten feet. Also, I noticed that on a Kill-O-Watt meter that it uses about 74 to 75 watts at top speed versus about 65 and 68 watts on the top settings of the two other models I mentioned. It's a small difference that may add up overtime, depending on your usage. With the rotation of the fan blades I hear a bit of variation to the rhythm of the fan sound. I hope everything is aligned properly for years of usage? Lastly, the fan grille, unlike the 723 and 6303 allows fingers to easily go into the inner container where the turning fan blades themselves are located. Clearly, that is not the type of item for younger kids, or older people with cognitive decline issues. It is probably okay for garage, or shop situations with its claimed ability to keep dust out of the fan's ball bearings. Its handle on top makes it more portable than the 723, yet the 6303 is nearly just as portable. Each of the compared units are considerably less expensive than the 293, use a little less power, and are safer for people at all stages of life given the fan grille enclosures. Generally, I would recommend something else for indoor family use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great high quality product. We use it in our home to cool it down at night so we can close up on hot summer days in the morning. I bought 1 several years ago, I am a design engineer and appreciated the reliable design of this "shop" fan. My wife hated the color when we got it, but after using it for a couple years, she had no problem buying a second one. The color became insignificant after she saw how well the first one worked. Washers should be added under knobs that tighten to stand, that is my only criticism. They should be sized so the brass insert in the knob bears on the washer, I.E. very little play on the stud on the fan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I'm retired and a DIY so I spend a lot of time in the garage,,,in Florida...in the heat!! I've tried other fans, some with blades 3 times the diameter of this fan. But the Vornado is much more efficient at moving air. Remarkable technology.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Heavy Duty Fan! Lovely to see such great design and workmanships still present in an American product. The fan moves air well and without a lot of noise. Build quality and ruggedness is excellent.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fan quit working I used this "heavy duty' shop fan total of 9 times, for total of 6 hrs run time in my 12 by 24 shop. First off,it advertises blowing / pushing air 100' not true, more like 12' . It's size is more for a personal work space fan, meaning it will only cool you down if your within 5' and directly in front of it. I came out to turn it on, it didn't work, come to find out it has a small fuse in the plug on the chord, replaced the fuse, still doesn't work. I'll be sending this item back, after having it for less than a month, I don't recommend this fan to anyone. I gave it 1 star for fast shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from We have 5! We now own 5, having bought them over the past 7 years. We first got 2 for a large loft apartment, and gradually added more, and bought additional ones for our studios. Some of them have been running continuously for years. I can't imagine living without them! The yellow color is fine, but I'd be into an all black model, too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Heavy Duty Fan for All Uses! I use three of these heavy duty fans throughout my efficiency apartment. They get the air circulating around the entire apartment with no problem. Stale air and odors are not a problem, plus they cool or warm the space quickly (depending whether or not I've got the heat on or cool air running).
