Vitamix S30 Variable Speed Blender with 20 oz. & 40 oz. Containers is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 86.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I've been very happy with my Ninja blender,  but wanted one that ground up seeds as in strawberries so I  got the Vitamix. It does a good job on the smoothies and seeds, but you need to put a towel on the travel container when you are taking the blade off because it spits. Chocolate smoothies have stained my shirts. I've also had to scrap the powder off the inside of the container.  The moving liquid doesn't grab the powder as it blends. The 48 container can only be half filled if you want to make soup otherwise it comes out from the top. As you pour the soup it goes over the spout and makes a mess. Soup making is a production.  My immersion blender is neater (and a lot cheaper ).

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Vitamix- S30 is GOOD not Great The blender is competent at best... Definitely did NOT exceed my expectations at all. In my opinion this blender is over priced considering its capabilities. Also, my travel cup leaks when I use it for blending. I would recommend this for someone new to cooking and smoothie/juice making. Maybe had I spent a little more money ($100 or so), I would be happy with Vitamix.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Powerful machine I've used this pretty well every day to make smoothies. It deals with frozen fruit, ice, raw beetroot, and anything else I've thrown in it with ease. Also it makes the most deliciously smooth soups. The downside is that the the join between the inner and outer wall of the smaller container isn't perfect, and it has now misted like faulty double glazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not as powerful as they say This is an alright blender, if you only want take smoothies. It does make them smoother than the NutriBullet 900 series but I tried to make the almond butter and it just quit the blades were packed with the almond powder and would not even come back on, I had to empty it all in my food processor and finish. So for only smoothies it works great. But too pricy for just smoothies. Sending back. I spent the extra $100 for the 7500. Can't wait to get it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid, Quality Unit My S30 replaces a lesser machine that was given to me as a gift. Great gift idea but soon the unit's cup tabs began to break down. I replaced it with a Vitamix S30 and am very pleased. The cost is worth the difference between this sturdy smoothie maker and the poorly made, cheaper machine. I'm not a young man anymore but am certain my S30 will outlast me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed Actually I would recommend depending on what the person wanted to use it for. If it is to make nut butters absolutely not. Even with recommended amounts or less of nuts in seizes up from being too warm, then you have to wait an hour for it to start again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall: Great Product This unit definitely works as advertised, and much better than my previous blender. It's very good for making fruit and veggie smoothies and not too much of a pain to clean. Would recommend!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Judge for yourself The blender died after 90 seconds of operation trying to blend fresh strawberries and kiwis. The motor would not start again.
