Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dream come true I have always wanted a smoker-grill but was put off by all the babysitting most needed while cooking. When I saw the presentation for this Traeger pellet grill with electronic temperature control, I knew this was the answer to my prayers. After I ordered this grill but before I received it, I read the reviews from others who had purchased it. The nightmare stories they painted about putting the grill together and all the damage done to parts during shipping had me doubting my purchase. Although I too must admit the instruction book and the letters and numbers to corresponding parts leaves a lot to be desired, they provide the tools needed and a few extra parts like washers and nuts. I have no mechanical abilities and I was able to put it together without a whole lot of problems. I do suggest that when putting the legs on you put it together very loosely to be sure you have the right size screws in the right holes before starting to tighten any of them. Common sense will help you figure out what goes where. I did end up calling the help line as when I fired it up the hot rod didn't turn bright red and it didn't seem to be giving off enough heat. They were very helpful and easy to deal with and the grill works as advertised and I couldn't be happier. You can just set it and forget it while it does the job. So far all the food as turned out so good and the taste can't be matched on a charcoal or gas grill.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from didn't live up to the hype I was excited about getting this, but when it go cooler outside I could not get the temperature high enough to grill. I love the concept of the pellets. I called the company but they offered no suggestions, cost ALOT to ship back..

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ok product I bought the grill thinking it would hold the right heat seeing it is over 600 dollars. The temp control only works less then half the time, you cannot set it and leave as they when they showed the grill with David. So fare I set the temp at 225 and came out 15 mins later to find that grill has climbed to almost 375. This doesn’t work when you want to cook low and slow. I think there is a better smoker out there for the same amount. Hope this helps someone

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just not all it's cracked up to be SUPER hard to put together because the directions were horrible and the parts were not labeled correctly. We had to call Traeger, twice, and spend quite a bit of time on the phone to get it all resolved. I will say, though, that their customer service was very helpful. Also, I don't think you're really tasting all the "wood" flavor at the level they make it sound like it will be. Honestly a gas grill works just as good and the flame from the gas grill might actually make it taste better. I know one of Traeger's "pluses" is that you don't get those gas grill flame flare-ups, but the down side is that without that type of flame the Traeger feels more like just a hot oven and not a firey grill - which is really what you're after when you're grilling.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Grill Bad experience all around. Order delivered to wrong address after confirming. Had a delay in putting together to find wrong nuts and washers included. After call to company, will be 2.5 days before new parts are mailed. So here sits grill, parts and boxes in den! Hope to have correct parts by end of next week!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love it After reading reviews on line, I agree the assembly instructions leave a lot to the imagination. The remedy is so simple I’m surprised Traeger hasn’t fixed the problem. Ex: on mounting legs “use black bolts A and H”. All the bolts are black! If they had just marked the components with letters corresponding to the instructions assembling would have been much easier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My 2nd Traeger I had my 1st Traeger for about 12 years and loved it. After about 10 years I had a couple problems with it and Traeger customer service was great in helping to trouble shoot. My old one still worked but want a newer one so I pass it on to the kids who were happy to get it. They even sent pictures of there 1st BBQ meal. I would recommend a Traeger to anyone and have many times. They're easy to use and do a great job. We use it at least 2 or more times a week. I've made jerky, smoked turkeys and hams. We BBQ a lot of chicken breast and they come out juicy every time. Can't say enough good things about it. BUY IT YOU"LL LIKE IT....

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Keeps shutting itself off This would be a great product if it didn’t shut itself down. There is a safety feature so it doesn’t get too hot. Great feature but it is never correct. I placed a separate thermometer in the grill and it shows the correct temperature but halfway through cooking the internal Traeger thermometer goes crazy and shuts the grill down... Back to the gas grill to finish cooking.
