K17303 - Tea Server Ball 5 Cup Tea Brewer
Tea Server Ball Makes Strong Tea Fast, Saves Money
I bought the yellow tea server ball and it's more of a sunny yellow than buttercup or golden which I had hoped it would be. I've only used my tea server ball once so far. When I make a pot of tea, I use 2 family size tea bags and steep sometimes all day. A pot of tea usually lasts me a day and a half, sometimes longer.
When I made the first pot of tea in this tea server ball, I used the 2 family size tea bags, cut open and poured the tea into the strainer. I filled the tea ball to the top with hot water and let it steep for about 30 minutes and decided to pour it into the tea jar since it looked so dark already.
When I poured the tea into the glass jar for storage in the fridge and added cold water to the top of the jar (my usual routine), the tea STILL looked extra dark. Then I poured some in a glass, tasted it and nearly gagged. The tea was so strong that I had to add half a glass of water to the half glass of tea I'd poured. And, I added water to the jar each time I poured about half a glass of tea and did so 4 or 5 times. Next time I make tea, I'll use just 1 family sized tea bag! I never knew pouring the tea bag into a strainer and steeping the tea that way would make such strong tea! This will definitely save some money. :)
The only thing I didn't like about this is the strainer basket. The handle should be hinged to move out of the way to make cleanup easier. It's a bit difficult to empty the basket of the ground tea. Tea leaves might be a littler easier to clean out.
What a cutiepot...so convenient to have a cup of tea, or Iced tea for the day! I got the blue and it is stunning. Easy to clean and you get a true taste of good tea!
Great Taste, Pretty Pot
I received my teapot today, and immediately made a pot of tea. The flavor was wonderful. I cut open my tea bags and put the tea in the pot. The flavor was so much better that when made in the bags. It was rich and robust!!! I'm goint to order another pot today for a gift.
The teapot I've looked for my whole life!
I have tried all kinds of teapost and this is just the right size and the prettiest I've ever seen. The colored plastic acts like a protector also, even thought I'm very careful not to break it. I LOVE IT!
I use this every day!!!
I love this pot. I have had it for a few years. I actually have 2.
I use it every day and love it.
Love my Teapot !!!
I love my teapot and I use it every single day !!! I fill it up with my keurig on the large setting twice and I use my loose tea from a very popular tea place (not sure if I'm allowed to say) and it comes out awesome. Clean up is very easy too !! In fact, I just ordered another one today in blue...I have the purple. Enjoy !!!
Great little tea pot............
Last year for Christmas all the females in our family received this tea pot. Everyone LOVED it!! One of my daughters broke hers and was heart broken, since she used it all the time. So I ordered her another one. This tea pot is a real winner, as is the smaller version too.
I love and use the smaller tea server ball so much, I decided to go ahead and buy this one so I can enjoy more tea! I am very happy with this product and thrilled with the price. I brew my tea every day and once done I put it in a pitcher to enjoy iced tea. This tea server does exactly what it’s intended to do. I am very pleased with this product… positively delightful!
Great tea really fast
I have used this everyday since I got it to make lots of ice tea. I steep the tea and then pour it over ice in a plastic container. I learned a long time ago not to put ice in something and then pour boiling/hot water into the container. The extremes in temp will break the glass on a regular bases.
I can see why this is on clearance. There is virtually no insulation, my tea got cold fairly quickly. The handle feels really unstable once I filled it with water and went to pick it up. I have no doubt that it will break sooner than later. The insert included in mine says it is not dishwasher or microwave safe yet the listing on QVC's product description says I can put it in the dishwasher. I don't know which is correct. It seems too fragile to put in the dishwasher.
QVC - Please try again on this one. I'd buy something sturdy, insulated and DW/Microwave safe. I also think that the steeper should be long & skinny so that the tea is infusing the bottom of the water. Once I poured one mug of tea, the rest of the tea was just below the steeper insert and did not continue to get infused.
I don't use it for tea...
I use it to hold the 40oz. of fruit-flavored water I want to drink every day. I fill it from the 80oz. "Pitcher with Fruit Infuser," which I love. I keep them both in the fridge, but I find the tea brewer pot easier to handle.
Four stars because it is a bit too delicate. I don't expect it will last for years and years.
Great little teapot!!
I bought this awhile back, but just started using it this summer, to make iced tea. It just works great. I open my teabags to pour into the metal basket. It works so fast it's nearly unbelievable. It's turning to tea as you are pouring in the boiling water. No long steep times, just a minute or two.
