I bought this for my husband, he is 69 y/o. He is very active in our yard and garden. The trimmer does a great job. The only complaint is that is too heavy and needed to take some breaks. It is not at easy as shown in the video. Overall I am satisfied.

I'm a 73 yr old man and active in my yard and garden. I saw this some time back and dismissed it at the time. Since, I changed my mind as I have tall shrub trees that I trim yearly with a stepladder and electric hedge trimmer, They are hard reaching (height) and I am unsafe.(leaning out and reaching out on the ladder). I revisited QVC, located the telescoping pole tirmmer, read the reviews (bad and good) and purchased the item. Quick ship, instruction reading, quick and easy assembly and I was in the yard trimming. I loved the features (adjustable head and pole length) and advantages (safety of standing on solid ground) while using this item. I did notice it does get a little weighty after a whille, but the advantages outweigh the dissavantages. Know your limitations as with any other purchase. At my age, I find it to be safer for me and a time saver. I believe it will last for many years with common sense care. I would recomend the trimmer.

Received it yesterday and used it. It worked perfect for my needs. Nice reach, not to heavy replaces a smaller trimmer. Can't beat it for the price.

Against reading the reviews that had troubles with this, I decided to test my luck on this hedge trimmer. Lets just say I lost.
Out of the box, this unit looks and feels sturdy. Read and re-read the instructions and got this trimmer all set up for some yard work. Attached the shoulder strap on the plastic clip attached to the trimmer and got to work.
Not even 20 minutes in, the plastic clip that holds the trimmer's shoulder strap (and you'll need this, it is heavy if you don't allow the strap to do it's function) snapped and broke on me! This makes the unit virtually impossible to carry the full weight and take advantage of that important feature.
Not only that, I noticed a smell and a sticky substance coming from around where the motor is. I stopped and immediately knew this was not meant to be and called QVC and Sun Joe for assistance. I needed to disassemble this thing now for a return. This was now fully assembled and twice the size of when it arrived and there is no way you can ship it back this way. Once you assemble this thing, you will need to break it back down in half to be be able to fit back in the original shipping box. Good luck with that!
The call to QVC was (as usual for me) pleasant and they did try to help as much as they could over the phone. They really were trying their best and I give them credit for it. They explained the procedure for return. I explained the predicament and they suggested me to call Sun Joe for instructions how to do so.
So, I call Sun Joe and tell them my problem. They CSR then proceeds to explain to me that once you attach the two pieces together, there is no way to get them unattached and that they have no info as how to do so. REALLY!?
They only way to send this defective thing back then is to either find a box double the size or find a way to release the two pieces and get the thing back in it's original box. Thankfully, with patience and a little luck, I discovered (on my own!!) how to disassemble the two pieces.
I will NEVER buy another Sun Joe item again. And, I have one of their chainsaws. God forbid if that has an issue! The fact that someone that works there was so flippant and brushed me off without as much as transferring my call to someone that cared a little more to try to help a customer with a DEFECTIVE product, speaks volumes in what kind of company they are.
Once again, QVC was great in trying to help me out. Kudos to QVC and the CSR that tried to help me.
OTOH, Sun Joe? BOOOOOOOOOOO
Hope this helps someone else.

We bought this item even though we knew it needed an electric cord. I would have preferred a battery unit or even gas but for the price we figured we give it a try. We found the unit a breeze to use. Yes its a bit heavy but all good yard equipment should be to be durable and long lasting. There is some minor assembly required ( blade and chain) but really its not difficult. And yes oil the chain with the oil provided.
We bought the camo colored unit this way we can do some trimming during night maneuvers. Just bought the hedge clippers ( battery) and have high hopes for it as well. And yes, we bought it in the camo.

This looked great when it was presented and looked like it would solve a problem we had trimming a tall bush. The problem is the motor at the head of the trimmer is just plain too heavy. Holding it steady with one hand is very difficult. The button to push so it will run is in an awkward position and very difficult to keep it on. We can manage the telescoping chain saw from Sun Joe just fine but the trimmer is just poorly designed for most women to use. Three of us tried to use it and it was exhausting to hold it up. It's going back!

I was so disappointed. This was way too heavy for me to use. Even my husband had a hard time trimming the tree. I can't send it back because it's way passed the 30 days.

Received this item and anxious to use. I am a 76 year old female and found the item to be too heavy for me, as well as my 49 year old daughter, even though she is quite capable of managing a 9-pound weight (as I thought I was). Even wearing the strap, provided for balance and stability. did not help. As stated great "for Hercules." Item is going back...at a great cost.. Again, very disappointed --not as seemed in presentation.
