Very Fragile! I bought these about 2 yrs. ago and have 2 left. They are very fragile and 2 of the ends broke trying to push them into the soil. The slender tips clog easily and every time I refill them I have to push the packed dirt out with a stick or skewer. They do work, however, not worth the effort. 02-17-10

NOT FOR HOUSEPLANTS These "killed" my Roberta's banana palms. I had them in the pots while they were outdoors and things were fine but when I moved them inside for winter things went downhill. I called Roberta's before they died telling them the plants started looking bad upon coming in. The FIRST thing the rep asked was whether I was using these types of waterers. For most plants they keep things too damp. I didn't find out in time; my palms were rotting at the soil line. I have used these outside with better luck where the heat keeps up with them. I also rescued two bushes that looked almost dead. For some reason they don't get enough water from the sprinklers in the garden beds. These will go back in those same extra dry areas this year. 01-21-10
Don't waste your money! As others have noted, these do not work. Soil will get stuck in the small opening preventing water from coming out or preventing you from refilling it. Good idea in theory, but simply does not work 12-27-09
Too much trouble These things are more trouble than they are worth. The first time you use them, the main problem is getting the water thru the tiny opening. It takes patience. Eventually soil gets stuck inside the tube and water won't come out to water the plants. This happens even if you make a long hole with a stick before you insert the bulb. 12-17-09
Pretty but don't work These are beautiful but they either empty out too fast or not at all -- it doesn't matter if the soil is wet or dry. I just keep them in the pots for looks now. 09-10-09
Terrible idea These don't work at all. They either don't drain at all or all the water gushes out. It is also time consuming to fill the bulbs. Unfortunately they are not even worth the clearance price. 09-07-09
Beautiful glass watering bulbs I love these self- watering bulbs. They are so pretty and a great size. I have looked at these self-watering bulbs in other stores and they are smaller and twice as much money. I have a rose tree that will be brought in this winter and placed in my basement while it lays dormant. It still needs to be watered so this will do the trick. I have lost many plants that require water during the winter months because I forget to water them. Now all I have to do is place 2 self-watering bulbs in with the rose tree and I will have a beautiful rose tree come spring. 08-25-09

Look Nice but Don't Work These are beautiful bulbs but after inserting them in the pots, most of the water empties out and the rest empties by the next day. I have my stored under the kitchen sink now trying to figure out what else I can use for these since they do look so nice. 08-02-09
Love them! They work great! I have had very good luck with the glass self-watering bulbs. I fill them once a week and do not have do do anything else. I followed the instructions doing exactly what they said. I did do one thing different. I used an extra large screwdriver to make the hole to put the bulbs into the soil and always make sure I use the same hole. I also got them for may daughter who really loves them. 07-30-09
Love this Product I purchased these for my mother-in-law as a gift. Unfortunetly, one was broken when I received them so I called and the customer service rep happily sent me a replacement. I decided to use the broken one just to see how these things work. Oh my gosh! LOVE THEM! I am trouble about remembering to water until my plants look lifeless but these things are wonderful. Fill them, place them, and forget it. I check the water level about every 2 weeks and keep going. I am thinking about getting a whole set just for me. 07-24-09
