SPT Evaporative Air Cooler

SPT Evaporative Air Cooler
product thumbnail
Talk about versatile. This evaporative air cooler also does the job of a humidifier and fan. It shoots a stream of air through oscillating louvers to evenly distribute refreshing cool air. The cooler works via endothermic reaction by drawing air through a water-saturated wick. As the air flows through the wick, some of the water evaporates into the air, consuming the heat that was in the air. A cooler air stream is then blown out the front of the unit. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little Evaporator If you are expecting an air conditioner then don't buy this, if you expect the air to be cooler that the water then don't buy this, this thing does not refrigerate the water and cool it. If you are looking for a great little set up for a shop or a really hot area, it its great, especially if you cool the water before you use it. But if the water out of your tap is 80-85 degrees guess what the temp of the air blowing out of it will be??? Yep 80-85 degrees

Rated 1 out of 5 by from A Bitter Lemon 1- Break-down right at the end of warranty and (it was a "Hose") repaired by the company who couldn't have been nicer to deal with. Problem cost $40 to ship it back; they did pay for returning it to me. 2- It only cooled the air four (4) degrees and that was with ice & ice-burgs in their tray. {BTW I Live in Phoenix Arizona; and the Humidity was <30%} 3- Break-down again this time it dumped all the water in tank onto my floor -- which is carpet and pads soaked with 1 & 1/2 quarts of water!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I ordered two of these. OMGOSH what a mistake!!! You haft to put Ice in them in order for them to give out cold air, even with all that mess they do not get cold !!! This is the worse buy ever!!! It makes a huge mess when the ice melts, don't waste your money!!!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the worse, but not the greatest either!!! Purchased the product, to find that the air that comes out is the equivalent of a fan on high!!! The air was cooling, however it did not even begin to cool the room down. When the humidifier was turned on it began to leak. For the money that was spent i just assumed to buy another fan. Again not the worse product but not the best either.
