Rated 1 out of 5 by from No Blooms/only some type of caterpilars My plants never bloomed, like they showed on TV. THe only thing I saw was these yellow striped caterpillars that ate the plant. Very disappointed with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Please plant for our Monarchs! I bought these last year and was happy to see that they actually bloomed in three different colors at different times. They were healthy and took off quickly. Here's the story, when I was a little girl there were Monarch butterflies everywhere now I see a few. We are killing our pollinators, insects and birds with all the stuff we spray on our gardens. These plants are the ONLY plant a Monarch caterpillar will eat, so if you see a big green caterpillar on your plants throw a party! They will eat the plant and about 4-6 weeks later they will crawl away and make the most beautiful chrysalis you have ever seen, it looks like jade. There is an issue though, many chrysalis do not make it. They are eaten, stepped on, or killed by the stuff we spray on our gardens. Don't spray your Milkweeds! I had a big problem with aphids when the weather turned hot. I went out with a shears every morning and trimmed the leaves with aphids, after I moved the caterpillars to another leaf. When this became too time intensive I potted the smaller plants, brought them into my screened in porch and gave the caterpillars a safe home. I bought some butterfly enclosures on Amazon and at the end of season I had let almost 50 Monarch butterflies loose to fly south. It was a wonderful experience. You do need to make sure that the caterpillars have enough to eat. They eat a LOT. My children are grown but this could be a great family experience and a way to teach them about nature. You can actually see the tiny eggs laid on the underside of leaves and follow this miracle all the way. I am happy to answer any questions you have about raising these beautiful butterflies. There is a lot on the internet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Save The Monarch! First of all, caterpillars are gonna eat this plant. That’s the POINT. I can’t believe all these one star reviews complaining about all the caterpillars. DUH. The flowers are beautiful and these things really take off. Had mine in a big whiskey barrel and they did well. Saw one chrysalis and several butterflies, so I felt like I did my part. The unfortunate part is yellow aphids invaded late in the season and stripped it. I was afraid to spray because there were also butterflies around. I hope mine come back this year!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed butterfies Ordered two sets only plant that lived from each set was the milk weed. The butterflies loved it but the other two plants from each set died. I haven't much success with QVC plants overall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Help save the Monarchs I've read some reviews and the reason these plants are there is to allow caterpillars (esp. Monarchs) have food to EAT & become butterflies! I've purchased many & didn't plant until grew more. Gave some to friends. The Monarchs are down to numbers so low they are near extinction.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a good plant for Florida We live on the panhandle of Florida and have lots of humming birds and butterflies but these flowers did not perform as advertised. Two of the three plans never bloomed and died. The third is just blooming but looks sick.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Shocked by what happened. I ordered these bushes because I have had great success with the flowers I have ordered from QVC. I received the bushes and as part of the gift I gave my daughter for Mother's Day, I gave her one of my bushes. Where it was planted, it took right off. After a month, it was even larger than I was expecting. One afternoon my daughter notices some caterpillars on the bush. She wasn't surprised and even showed her daughter the caterpillars and spoke about how they would be turning into butterflies later on. After a couple of weeks one afternoon she noticed the complete bush was covered in caterpillars of all sizes. Within a couple of weeks the bush had been completely devoured by the caterpillars and they were crawling up side of house. The only thing left of the bush was the stems. She had me come over dig up the bush and throw it away. My bushes that I kept did not have as many caterpillars, but they also were eaten and only the stems survived. I would not recommend these as I buy my flowers not just for the bugs and bees but also the look of the beauty it gives.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth it The plants were very fragile and tiny, so I took extra care in planting and nurturing them. Still, it took forever for them to grow even an inch. Only one survived. When it did begin growing, a Monarch butter caterpillar came along and ate EVERY leaf off the plant. Ironic, huh? Total waste of my hard-earned money and precious time. Don't even go there....
