A very nice garnet
The ring is lovely. The garnet has a lot of intensity. If there was one thing I had to pick that was lacking it would be size. The ring could be slightly larger. I realize that increases the cost and with gold, that could be a problem, but I happen to be short. On a taller woman, this ring could get lost.

Not an Opal
The description states "Opal Birthstone" ring, it is NOT an opal. It is just a small white stone, no fire in it at all. Not worth the money
