Patricia Nash Leather Drawstring Witney Tote is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 348.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pros and Cons This was one of my first Patricia Nash bags. I am disabled and elderly, and I haven't carried a leather bag in years due to the weight on my shoulders. I was curious and have loved what I've seen of her designs on TV and decided to get a couple home and try them. Here are my thoughts: PROS It's lightweight, but in no way looks cheap. So I'm very excited about being able to carry leather again. The organization is fine -- and I'm particularly delighted that the center zip divider section is not suspended above the floor of the bag, but that it provides actual, independent sections on either side. That is HUGE with me. So many designers cheap out and let the center zip just sort of hang there like a suspended envelope section. Allowing it to actually be part of the bag and form the two independent sections means the contents of one side doesn't commingle with the contents of the other side on the floor of the bag. And THAT, my friend, is perfection. I also enjoy the lining, which is kind to cell phone screens and the lenses of readers and sunglasses. CONS The leather. I know it's leather, smells like leather, is real leather. But it is SO blasted stiff. I believe it could be softer. I am accustomed to pebble leather that is very soft and puddles. Certainly, that is not workable for a tote bag. But it could be a bit softer. I also expected that the map design would be etched into the leather, not just stamped or printed on. That was my biggest disappointment in the bag. I do have doubts that the tassels are real leather -- there is no reason for stiff tassels, and that's a huge negative. And the straps don't seem real leather. They are very stiff, and again, there's no reason for straps to be stiff. I have not yet committed to keeping the bag, but feel I will likely do so. Having seen the map is not etched, but only stamped or painted, and with the stiffness -- that's an issue for me. But it IS lightweight -- and I so rarely find that. And I do look forward to carrying leather again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I’m certain I was shipped a returned handbag I’m sorry to say I’m certain I was sent a returned handbag. The tassels were not wrapped at all and arrived tangled. There was no wrapping on the handles or any hardware. It’s a nice bag (larger than I expected) but it’s not a new bag. QVC should be honest with their customers and state if this is an “AS IS” returned item. The Q in QVC is waning. For such an expensive purchase I should have received a new, unopened and certainly not returned, item. Disappointed. (As with many things with QVC lately)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Bag!!! I bought the tan tote. It’s absolutely beautiful and beautifully handcrafted. The quality of the leather and the color is gorgeous. The straps are a bit stiff but will soften up with use. I really wish that PN would include crossbody straps with all her totes for us smaller and older women who could use it when our tote gets a bit too heavy. I would be willing to pay for it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Peruvian Paint is breathtaking and versatile. I have always wanted this bag in the Peruvian Paint print, but wasn’t sure about the open top and the price. I lucked out and found it in As Is conditionThe deep, rich colors and subtle yet feminine floral pattern make this bag the most versatile I’ve owned, as a fan of floral handbags, whether embossed or painted. Some people say I look old-fashioned with my florals, but this one has a sophisticated vibe I need, which works for night life and power lunches. It goes equally well with my urban puffer coat, leather trench, wool peacoat, or denim jacket over a country dress. This purse works with everything I own, is rich & beautiful leather, yet doesn’t compete with other styles or patterns. Works with brown, black, other colors, and prints. The dark colors will be beautiful in the fall and winter you don’t clash with summer brights and pastels. The golden brown velvet inside really sets it off. I love the feminine drawstring detail, the tassels and logo tag. There is a snap closure at the top, two compartments inside with a zippered divider pocket, additional zippered inside pocket, and small pouches. I just wish they had mentioned that the drawstring isn’t functional. I was hoping to be able to cinch it more, but it doesn’t look out of place as a design feature. It’s very stylish. My only concerns are that the straps are too short to comfortably carry on my shoulder, a bit scratchy, and rough around the edges. I hope they don’t fray, as it would take away from the striking luxe look. Also, it’s quite a bit smaller than it looked in the images. I usually go for the large to jumbo Nash totes, and this one is similar in width to the Marseilles Tote, which is usually my minimum size, but the Witney is a bit shallower...more of a medium tote. The drawstring takes a little bit off the functional height, as well. I guess I could stand to challenge myself to carry less items everywhere so, for the beauty of the bag, I will make it work. I have five or six Patricia Nash bags and I have noticed sometimes a difference in quality when I order different colors of the same style. Sometimes I don’t like the look of my first choice in person and I have to return it but I always end up with something top notch, for the price, with QVC’s no-penalty exchanges. This time I hit the jackpot the first time, and on sale. I couldn’t be happier with the appearance. Someone called it an equestrian style tote, which I would’ve avoided by description, since I’m a city girl. I’m actually thrilled that I just impulse bought this. Turns out the best thing about this bag is how well it works both with inner city and country style clothes, classy, or bohemian...this bag is everything. Now that I have the versatile print, I’m very tempted to get the snake print. I have boots in the same print, so that’s a ready-made outfit; just add solids. If you know someone’s style, there are a lot of nice Witney bags to choose from, and a medium bag is nice if you don’t know which size they prefer. If you DON’T know her style, it would be hard to miss with the Peruvian Paint.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Disappointed First let me say that I have many Patricia Nash handbags and have never been disappointed. With this one I have the garden floral map I love the print but I’m very disappointed in the leather especially the handles I think the handles make the bag looks so cheap and the leather is very stiff which I am not used to from Patricia Nash handbags. I did receive it as a birthday gift from my husband so I am going to keep it

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Patricia Nash slayed! I love this handbag! I ordered two one in the Green croc and the second one in Peruvian Print. I plan on ordering three more Vintage Black, Spring Multi, and Plum. This bags slays in every area the sizing is perfect, the height, and the weight of the bag not to mentioned the organization inside the handbag. The pockets are just right for large cell phones, and long cigarettes. I can fit my day planner, laptop, wallet, cosmetic bag, gym clothes including towel and shoes in this bag. I am giving this bag 4 stars because of the packaging. The Peruvian Print handbag arrived packaged as a designer handbag should be packaged, the Green croc arrived in a plastic bag with no inside stuffing you could tell it was a return. I did keep the bag but if the other three arrives in this condition I will send them back. When I pay a certain amount of monies I expect better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Tote Bag Got the Peruvian Paint. This tote has everything. Great organization, love the center zip. Easy closure. Inside pockets. This faux suede inside lining is real nice and soft. The Peruvian paint is sooo nice and different. I really love the colors. It's not a loud bright pattern, its subtle and so beautifully done and has a shine. Love the tassels and mine are sewn correctly. There's plenty of space inside on either side of center zip. You can fit a tablet and water bottle. And it has a outside pocket great for larger phone and mask. This bag has it all! Highly recommend...oh and straps are great length for a shoulder bag. I love the double straps...so many colors and pattern choices too.
