A89017 - Mally Beauty Bronze Genius Self-Tanning Bronzerwith Brush
No self tanner benefit at all!
I ordered this for a dear old man that feels that his skin has taken on a pastey appearance now that he is older. After he saw the item in person, he decided it wouldn't work for him and doubted the self-tanning claim. He asked me to return it. I love Mally and thought I would use it myself instead of returning it. I found the color to be nice overall, but the "old man" was right....there is no self-tanning benefit at all. So, if you want to use it for a touch of color, expect to have to use it daily as IT DOESNT WORK AS A SELF-TANNING PRODUCT! i would ask for my $ back, but it was too late.
Works for me....
The lighter shade is perfect for my medium skintone (with redness..here and there)...I do use another brush to apply, but powder goes on smooth, looks natural and evens out my skintone...I am very satisfied with this bronzer...I use moisturizer or serum on my face before I apply, which is probably why I haven't noticed any self-tanning...probaby should be applied directly to clean skin..
I purchased the lighter shade and it was still too dark. I sent it back. Didn't care for the brush either, little hairs from it kept coming out. I sent this one back.
I'm light skinned and this looks so natural one me
I'm not a bronzer gal, tried many in my 52. yrs. but have to say I bought this and love it on my light skin.
It looks very very natural.
I do not use a bronzer daily right now..here in PA it is kind of cool (still) but did wear it a few times and it was not orange as another said..trust me I loathe orange! in fact my husband said "my you look so nice today Mar" it had to be this :)
Regarding the 'self tanner' aspect, again it builds as you would use it and I'm not at that point yet..if it does self tan a bit great if it not too much that's fine..I do not want a lot - the color of this on skin is nice and texture of the brush is so nice that alone is worth the cost of the entire kit!! it is perfect, and I do not buy much Mally...but this brush is better then most and I have many.
The bronzer in Tan, which I have looks brown in the gorgeous compact but does not go on dark - it is buildable.
I'm pleased and this is one is a keeper.
I was so excited to see this product as it seems like a great idea. That said, for me, it is an average bronzer with no added benefit. For the price, I expected it to be a high quality product which for me it is not.
Not what I expected
Watching the presentation gave me the impression that this was a soft, illuminating bronzer. This was completely flat matte. It looked like I rubbed dirt on my face. It's going back ASAP. I was very disappointed because I am looking for a bronzer that is not sparkly shiny (like Laura Gellers) but not flat matte either. The search continues.
ON THE ORANGE SIDE
I bought this in the Deeper shade for my med/tan skin (much like Mally's). Since I use a facial self-tanner I really wasn't looking for that benefit in a bronzing powder, and upon opening the compact I knew I would never know if this product offered self-tanning benefits because I knew I wouldn't be using it in the long-term. The Deeper shade has an orange tinge to it that, as most bronzer users know, does not flatter anyone. I did give this a couple trys & yep, applied & wore on me with the orange cast that was evident upon opening. I'm not sure of other skin tones, but a natural tan from the sun on me does not resemble Oompa Loompha. For medium/tan olive complected folks, a good bronzer should have reddish & brown tones mixed into it, w/ very little if any orange undertones. One would think Mally would know this since this would be the bronzer shade she would use. On the brighter side the powder is completely matte, with not a hint of shimmer, which I prefer in my bronzers. The brush feels cheap at best, definitely not in line with a higher quality brush. I would have replaced it w/ other brushes I currently have had I liked the powder. And last but not least, I cannot stand the compact packaging! Maybe it's me but the compact is impossible to open - nearly nail-breaking difficult. It's also a bit bulky for my taste since I like to travel w/ my cosmetics. So, although I cannot speak for the self-tanning effect or the other shade this comes in, the Deeper shade was a big disappointment for me....it's going back today.
ok Ladies, this bronzer does what it says. just my opinion but that is what you are here for. The color gives a nice subtle tan,( glow) which on me does stay on or self tan, for a few days. I find it easy to apply without streaking, no nasty self tanner smell
Used this for over a week and received no self tanning benefits. The bronzer was OK but very expensive. Other bronzers cost less and are as good if not better. In addition, its not sweat proof and thats a big summer negitive for me.
OK Bronzer Itself, No Tanning Effect.
The concept is pretty genius like the name of the item. Unfotunately, the self-tanning effect was NOTHING for me after tried three days in a row. I thought it was too good to be true first.. the bronzer powder does self-tanning? But I had to try. I would say it is o.k. bronzer itself, but too expensive for just bronzer. I am sorry, Mally. This is not the best in the line.
