Lug North/South Messenger Bag with RFID - Happy Camper is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this style handbag I really appreciate the organization in this handbag. I will be using it as mainly a shoulder bag because of the size of it however I like that it can be used as a crossbody if I needed to. I find that I use one of the front flap pockets for my cell phone as it is easier for me to access it and the dedicated phone pocket I will be using for my eyeglasses. I also really like that it has a wipeable bottom. I purchased the gunmetal (gray) color, which is a great neutral to wear with different outfits. I also really like the quality. Given everything I put inside of it, which is a lot, the bag is lightweight. And it has two water bottle holders that zip up out of sight when not in use. Really love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the bag but just one suggestion I bought this bag because the one I ordered earlier was too small. I returned it and purchased this one. There is plenty of space for all that I carry. My only suggestion is that the key holder and strap are located too low in the main compartment. The strap should be closer to the top by the zipper for easy location of my keys. I have to hunt for the strap when I am trying to find my keys.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So awesome I bought the same one twice!! I’m surprised at negative reviews, and that this bag doesn’t have a higher rating. I liked this bag so much I bought the same one twice! The first time I received it I immediately fell in love. I loved the gunmetal grey color, the feel and look of the contemporary fabric, and the phenomenal organization. However, I returned the first one because at 3.25” in depth I initially thought it was too narrow for me (front to back). Originally, when I put all my things inside it seemed a little too tight, and I wasn’t used to my bags being that deep. So, I hastily returned it thinking that if I didn’t return it ASAP I was definitely going to keep it, and I was afraid it would end up just sitting in my closet. The day after I had handed over to the post office I began to regret it! It dawned on me that I could’ve arranged my things differently, and it would’ve worked perfectly! So, when it went on sale on with 6 Easy Pays I bought it again, and I’m so glad I did!! I normally prefer bags that have an east/west orientation, but the organization of this north/south style bag really makes it work for me. I’ve been using this bag for a while now, and this is how I’ve configured all the things I carry: I actually use the the front RFID zipper compartment for all of my sketching supplies. I was able to give up two of my three pencil cases, and put my pens, waterbrushes, and pocket-sized watercolor palette in the cargo pockets and pen holders. My third pencil case is a Tran Pencil Portfolio which is long and narrow, and holds my colored pencils upright in a single file. It nestles down in, and along the entire length of, that compartment nicely. I’ve also ditched my business card case. I use the clear view card holder for my, and my husband’s, business cards; 7 each. I’m not using the rest of the card slots, for now. My Lug Tram wallet, which is RFID protected, fits perfectly inside the cargo pocket of main compartment with the bungee key leash. Boom! A dedicated place for my keys and wallet! The other cargo pocket cradles my 4x6 Stillman and Birn hardcover sketchbook. The privacy zip pocket holds my pack of antibacterial hand wipes (I prefer those over gel), a small zip lock of medications, nail clippers and file, hair ties and clips, earplugs in a small cylindrical case, and a couple other small personal items. I can also fit another, larger, 7x10” sketchbook (horizontally or vertically), or a book, or a couple of magazines in the main compartment. If I needed to, I could roll up a lightweight, jersey knit cardigan, or a scarf, or a wrap and sit it on top of all of that and zip up the top of the bag. I’m sure could probably cram something else in there if I wanted to. The back zippered pocket fits my 9.7” iPad Pro in a thin shell case with some room to spare. If I needed to I could carry my charging cables and a small portable battery. On the front, one magnetic flap pocket holds my iPhone 7+ In a case and a handkerchief (or tissues if I have a cold). The other magnet flap pocket holds my Clipa2 bag hanger, lip balm, mints, dental picks, pack of beauty blotters, small wireless earphones, and a mini pocket-sized tube of hand lotion or sunblock. My chunky sunglasses fit just right down in the soft lined phone pocket with a little wiggle room, and they aren’t getting crushed. But WAIT, there’s MORE! Then, there’s the zippered cargo pockets on each end! Of course, they each fit a standard 16.9oz disposable water bottle. I was pleasantly surprised to find that either can also hold my bulky 20oz Yeti tumbler! I have also used them for packable sun hat (rolled up), or a warm beanie, or umbrella, or a reusable shopping bag, or a pack of M&M’s... and they zip up and out of the way when I’m not using them! All of that in a lightweight, sleek-looking handbag that kind of hugs me when I’m wearing it crossbody! I’ve read that some people don’t like the material. Personally, I’m enjoying the contemporary fabric. I don’t think it looks cheap at all. Yes, it is satiny, and kind of shimmery in the sun, but it looks modern and fresh, and pet hair doesn’t cling to it. It has a classic, versatile, and elegantly unfussy look that can be dressed up, casual, or sporty. It’s very smooth, soft, and pleasant to the touch. It feels cool and comfortable against my body. It slides easily over my summer-weight clothing and doesn’t make my blouses and shirts bunch up. So far, it seems quite durable, and it’s easy to wipe off. I really like that there’s no quilting. I would love to have this in a solid navy, a solid olive/army green, or a camo black. A note about quality and customer service: When I opened and removed the packaging of my second Happy Camper I noticed a small area at the top of the bag where a seam was coming apart. It was not in a place that would hinder the function of the bag, but no, this should not have happened. However, it really wasn’t a big deal to me. I knew Lug would stand behind their products, and that they have excellent customer service. That evening after work I filled out Lug’s online warranty claim form. It took about 3 minutes. The next morning customer service emailed saying that they had immediately processed my form and already sent me a replacement. Things happen, and I’m quite sure Lug is well aware, and on top of, rectifying the quality issue for this style. So, if you do have an issue, no worries.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional bag I have the pow. Pink and the botanical multi in this style. I love it. I put a lot of things in my bags: 3 bottles of medicine, an Epipen, an inhaler, slender wallet w my medical knowledge. A wallet that’s rfid, puffs, soft cloth and glasses cleaner. Container with makeup, another with odds and ends, some paperwork and if I’m going to the doctor, an iPad. This bag holds all that plus a bottle of water. I forgot two different sets of keys! And sunglasses and some gum! Talk about the kitchen sink! I know where everything is and don’t have to search. I want them to add some new colors to this style please.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Frayed pocket... The pouch for the cell phone is fraying (the satin shell) and may soon RIP at seam. Sad. Only used for a month thus far, and needed the organization for family road trip over holiday. Bummed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love This Bag! Purchased it as my Lug for summer in the botanical multi- a beautiful color palette that goes with just about anything! Lightweight, of course tons of common sense organization- and I do love the fabric which I find comfortable for wearing over the lighter warmer months wardrobe. I use it as a shoulder bag - my preference- and couldn’t be happier with it. Yes I’m a happy camper!
