Rated 2 out of 5 by from Decent coffee maker, cheap carafe I bought this coffee maker a couple of months ago. It's worked well so far, but the carafe is definitely cheap. Today I noticed that the spout on ours is chipped and broken. Since many others on this forum have complained about the same thing, it's obviously a known flaw.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 2 broken carafes in less than 2 years! We've owned our coffee maker for less than 2 years; now my replacement carafe of just over one year has broken. The original carafe broke when the bottom edge was bumped against the edge of my sink; the second one broke when inverted to dry on the dishrack. Neither instances should have resulted in a damaged carafe. Despite the negative reviews on this site, we ordered the replacement because it was a relatively new coffeemaker and we liked it. As a matter of fact, we probably treated the replacement carafe more gently because of the reviews on this site. It still broke. We've owned various coffeemakers over the years with glass carafes, none of which have broken or even cracked through normal everyday use. I'm very frustrated as I like this coffeemaker. Is it worthwhile to spend more money on something that will break in another year? Or should I trash a perfectly good coffeemaker just because the carafe is poor? As an fyi, I saw this coffeemaker on sale for about the same price as two replacement carafes (including taxes and shipping).

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great Machine; Cheap Carafe I bought this machine three weeks ago. I am very pleased with its brewing functionality, but the glass carafe broke while carefully *hand* washing it. It is a much thinner quality glass than I have used before. Very disappointed to have to now find/purchase a replacement.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 12-cup glass carafe KCM1202 We purchased this coffeemaker earlier this summer. The coffeemaker is fine, but the carafe spout broke for no apparent reason. It does not have a protective rim, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. I'm trying to locate a replacement carafe, but see they are out of stock. Looks like it would have been costly to replace anyway, so the coffeemaker is absolutely of no use to us anymore. What a shame.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality in the cafare Poor quality I’ve had my new kitchen aid coffee maker for a few moths my carafe has already cracked. The glass seems very thin and expensive to replace it every 3 months.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I’ve had my new kitchen aid coffee maker for a couple months now and my carafe has already cracked. The glass seems very thin. I have several kitchen Aid products but, this one seems to be of lesser quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Glass Carafe is broken already My carafe is also broken! We purchased this on November 24, 2017 and last night, after approximately 5 weeks of use, it broke while I was hand washing it. There is a crack about halfway around the entire carafe. I'm very disappointed...especially given how much this coffee maker cost us. Does anyone know if the thermal carafe will fit? At least that one won't crack.
