Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not Even Worth It I received this shield which I thought would be perfect to help, but it doesn't come close to working. It doesn't fit on the bowl, which means I have to hold it down while trying to pour things in and adjust the speed (almost impossible). You would think that after 187 reviews at over 150 being 1 stars, they would work to fix this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful! I've never had an attachment so useless in my life! What a waste of money! Not only doesn't it fit right, as soon as I turn the mixer on low, whatever is in the bowl shoots out the sides and top of it, making a huge mess. I usually love your products but this one is heading for the garbage!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from One major flaw I purchased my 5 quart Artisan stand mixer in December 2018. My one complaint is the pouring shield. It will not stay in place. If you slightly bump the mixer the shield goes awry whether the mixer is being used or it is just sitting idle on the counter. Why didn't they make a shield that would snap onto the bowl instead of just sitting there un-anchored? Surely Kitchenaid has a better research and development department than that. I suggest they fix the problem and replace all of the shields that are out there with the improved model.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed. I got my (KSM150PSSM) 5 QT, ARTISAN stand mixer for last Christmas (2018). I had been resisting getting one for years on the idea that all my family's bread recipes had been done manually and I figured if it was good enough for them, it's good enough for me. I've got all the other great kitchen machines (a Cuisinart food processor, Vitamix blender, Cuisinart immersion blender, etc.) but I just resisted a stand mixer. I'm 75 years old a stubborn. So I got the KitchenAid for Christmas and couldn't be happier. It is the best. I do two different breads regularly. One is a Danish pumpernickel like what you would find in Racine, Wisconsin and the other is an Italian sandwich bread loaf like what you find in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. Boy was I wrong. This machine has changed both my breads for the better. I should have gotten this mixer years ago. Any way, the only disappointment is the plastic splash guard. It just doesn't fit and it is such a disappointment coming from a company that has gotten so much right. Surely you all can do better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible design - even hazardous! This splash guard just sits on the lip of the bowl and does not stay in place. The slightest bump or even vibration from the machine dislodges it. It then becomes a hazard, sometimes falling in to the bowl! I have resorted to having to hold it in place with one hand while using it. The design makes it difficult and awkward (almost impossible) to use as a left handed person. You basically have to set the mixer perpendicular to the counter edge to use the spout. Even for a right handed person you end up using the mixer with the speed control on the opposite side from you, so blindly operating it. I have dreamed of owning a kitchen aid mixer and I was super excited to receive one for Christmas. The awful design of this feature and the poor craftsmanship of the 5 quart bowl is disappointing for sure.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Yes and no While the concept of the product is a good idea it would be nice if it fit a little tighter. It does what it says it does. Product reviews for who this would be good for? Should have two more suggestions, “anyone, no one”

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pouring shield I cannot get this flimsy piece of plastic to stay on the bowl. Kitchenaid should redesign this useless shield and at least provide 6 or 8 of these tabs (and longer) to keep from falling off and making a mess. Those tabs are so small that they are useless! The radius of curvature is also smaller than the pan so makes it doubly hard to stay on. True bad feature on an otherwise fine mixer (6 Qt. Model).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality I was excited when I got this along with my new mixer a couple of weeks ago. I’ve tried it twice and it doesn’t fit tight to the bowl and ingredients fly out between the guard and the mixer and the back where there is no guard. I wouldn’t suggest buying this separate.
